Thanks for the warm welcome Nanny and Penguin!! biggrin.gif

Grasscutter, we made the decision to have our weekend services on Saturday night Christmas Eve as it seemed to work best for an overwhelming number of those within the community. I certainly respect those that struggle with not having church on this Christmas day and I encourage those that feel strongly about the issue to find a place to attend this Sunday. However, there were three things led us to this decision...1) We never have a service on Christmas day when it falls on a day other than Sunday. 2) We rely very heavily on a large number of volunteers to host and facilitate the many people who join us each weekend and it seemed appropriate to allow those folks to take a break and enjoy time with family and friends as we realize that worship is a way of life not just something that we should do on Sundays...especially considering that our research within the community was showing that right at 90% of the folks would attend one of the Christmas Eve services but, would not be returning on Sunday. 3) We recognized that the Sabbath day could mean anyone of the 7 days of the week as we have a large number of folks who work in professions that require them to work on Sunday...therefore, back in September, we launched our Saturday night service which it the exact same service as the following Sunday morning...this has been incredibly well received by many folks who were not able to attend church routinely on Sundays.

I hope this helps explain the thought process that went into this decision...I assure you we did not take it lightly. We will evaluate the outcome once the weekend is over and are always open to critique on what worked and what didn't work...our goal is to honor God and transform lives in all that we do. If we see that this decision interfered with that in some way, you can bet, we will be reevaluating for the next time this occurs in 2011 (in think)!!

Grasscutter, thanks for your feedback and I appreciate you letting me take a moment to repond.

God bless and Merry Christmas!
