Maybe a couple of years ago - I remember the news story. When their enrollment dropped, they could no longer afford to foot the bill for running all of those lights. Five dollars is a VERY reasonable fee, IMO.

We went to Felix tonight! A good as always except the people that parked their car in front of the show and the kept getting in and outnof their car and walking right I front of the show!!! Again **smh**

A house in the Oliver Chase subdivision has some cool lights that beat to the music that you tune in on the radio and santa's in the window. I didn't visit last year but thats always one of the grandkids favorites. It's def worth the ride down 381 to see them. You go straight into the sub division to the cul de sac. Most people park for a few minutes and watch as Santa waves out the window.

There's a cute display on Donna Lane (or just off of it...if you're on Donna Lane from Mt. Tabor Church Road, you'll see the lights). Couple of houses near each other.

Yep, I loved to drive through there with the kids, we didn't mind the traffic. The display was only up a few weeks and it was Christmas after all.

There but for the grace of God, go I.

We drove by on Saturday night, I think it was. A weekend night, anyway. The left yard (the way we were headed; fewer decorations) was not lighted, but the one on the right with more decorations was lighted. 5yo nephew loved it, as he did last year. And for such a small space, it's really well-done. Mucho work, I know that...

I wonder how long it will be before the Felix Lights meet the same fate as the Hardy Boys Lights?

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure.

It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills.

It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies…

America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

Well, the Felixes at least have a decent set-up in that they're in a cul-de-sac, and when it's crowded, they have guys parking cars, not allowing them to block driveways, and keeping things moving.

The Hardy Boys had a pretty decent setup, I thought, since it was all on their private property. They had people directing traffic to keep everything moving.

Come on down to South Paulding on Friendship Church Road. Located just 2 miles east of Hwy 61 off of Ridge Road. My neighbor has a fabulous display. And you can park and walk through the display. They have made a lot of the items in their display.

There used to be a large display somewhere around Bobo Rd and Mt Tabor Church intersection. I remember two long driveways leading people in and out off the property. They had a live Santa setup almost every night.

There used to be another display off Smith Ferguson Rd (off 61S and off Dallas Nebo) in one of the subdivisions on the same side as Meadowbrook Ln where all of the homeowners tried to outdo each other.

I don't know if either of these are still active sites or not.

I heard that one of the Hardy neighbors had a heart attack, and the ambulance could not get to them in time..:( that is why I heard they stopped. Don't know if that is true or not.

Girl, you missed it! It was wonderful, you know Charles has always been a big Shriner and they took up collections as you turned onto the property. You were able to drive through the property and it was so pretty!

We went every year and also took my mother. People came from far and wide just to see the Hardy lights. Seriously.

And the traffic jam got so bad, I think they had trouble getting emergency personnel through and they finally had to shut it down. And I think the neighbors complained because they couldn't get in and out from their homes.

They would start in September decorating. I hated to see it go, but I understand, Macland is a major road and it would be backed up for miles in both directions, as well as on Lake Road.

He got a lot of donations for the Shriners there!

The Lovingood's lights on Friendship Church Rd. You can park your car and walk through their display. They give out hot chocolate and candy canes on the weekends. I work with Dawn; she and her husband are so sweet. Their display gets bigger every year.
