BUSTED and REBUKED!
The comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

This was on FB this morning, figured I could post it.

JK Rogers for State Senate
Hello everyone,

I am sorry, but, this going to be a bit long. Some people have asked me how I feel about the State Senate District 31 race. I have known Senator Heath for several years. When I was the 2nd Vice Chair of the Paulding Republican Party I helped him put his signs out. I was thrilled when he and his...campaign manager pulled off a historic win, defeating Tom Murphy. In fact I shook his hand and told him he was my favorite candidate. Four years later I ran for Sheriff, because, there were some things that needed changing. Senator Heath completely turned his back on me. I said to myself oh well, guess that is politics. I need to deal with it and get over it. We did get a much better Sheriff, in my opinion, than the previous Sheriff. A few years later I see the unemployment rate skyrocket 400% in Paulding among many other major issues in Paulding, Polk and Haralson.
I decided to run for State Senate, because, I really felt like I had a plan that would help people. I did not run, because I was mad at the Senator. Then I hear Bill Carruth is running. Immediately, people told me to watch that guy. But, I am not running against Bill and Bill. I am running, because, I can help the people. Through all of the mudslinging I stayed on task, telling the people about my plan. Although, people liked the plan I ended up falling short. I met with Senator Heath briefly on Saturday and met with Bill Carruth yesterday. I have friends on both sides of this race, so, I felt like the best thing for me to do is just put the facts out there, help inform the people and let them make their best decision on who to choose. That is until tonight. When I came home I received yet another set of mail outs. This set accused Carruth of being a supporter of President Obama. Now listen, I don't know what Carruth has done or not done. I don't know what Senator Heath has done with the Political Action Committee. As a leader, I have to stand up for what is right even when people I care about greatly will be angry at me for doing so. I was on the sideline until now. What this mailout does is take the remotest of truths and spins it to where it looks like a solid fact. Carruth did not attend the debates because, it was not coordinated by an unbiased third party group of people. Yet when we were going to debate, I was given one choice, as far as, day of the week. The Senator was too busy. The link to President Obama is about as weak as...you are a citizen, therefore, you support President Obama. Well, I do support my country and the military and he is the Commander in Chief, so, does that make me an Obama supporter? I am voting for Mitt Romney. I have an oath to support the Commander in Chief and protect this country. Why does a Senator have to resort to this type of behavior? I don't know, but, this is very disappointing and it has really turned me off to Senator Heath. The district is a disaster in so many categories I was not sure which ones to debate at our debates. You make your own decision, but, I have seen the same tactic over and over again.. the likelihood of a former candidate that ran against him a few years ago, opening sex shoppes in Dallas is like President Bush doing so. If this is Senator Heaths idea of honest and ethical I disagree and I really wonder if political power has confused his judgment. This is not the man that I met years ago. I think you should relook at this race and examine mail outs like this. I want leaders that have courage and I am telling you tonight, knowing that many of my friends will hate me, wrong is wrong and right is right. This is wrong. If you think another candidate has done something wrong put it out there in a factual manner, not a distorted way. Put the amount of emphasis that you choose on these comments, good or bad, but this is my honest opinion. I promised you I would accept $1 contributions and I held that promise. I can also promise you that I will not gain anything from these comments no matter who wins. To my friends that may get mad I am sorry, but, I had to say something. This is just not accurate.

Your friend,

jk rogers

I cannot wait until next week to go vote for Bill Carruth. I may not have been able to effect the House Race as I had hoped, but I can cast my vote and try to effect the Senate Race.

Just too darned bad that one of them is just as bad as the other. Afraid we are in deep trouble with either one of them.

My fear is that message of a Heath victory is that no one will ever run against him again for fear of the ubber-negative campaign ... and we have this sucker for life.

I mean Carruth didn't try for a second four year term as county chairman ... I think he might serve four, six or maybe eight years but I don't think it is in his DNA to run forever... unlike Heath.

This is especially true since Heath was very much for term limits when he was running against Tom Murphy ... but won't say a word about that now.

I know, I am just working from 7am to about 6pm in Alpharetta all week so I will not be able to make it to the courthouse this week. I am going to be able to go in late next week so that I can vote on the election day.

Wineguy:

I also think it is important for folks to realize that the only people who can't vote in this runoff are those who voted a Democratic ballot on July 31. If you DIDN'T VOTE or if you voted a Republican ballot in the July 31 election, you can vote provided (for those who didn't vote) that you're registered. (We're assuming you're registered if you voted July 31.)

Apparently the irony of Mr. Houston's conversion caught the attention of Jim Galloway at the AJC as well as the Peach Pundit.

The item appeared as a snip in this mornings Morning JOLT.

Here's the Peachpundit link Those commenting got a kick out of the image of praying over a hot dog.

One of the things that continues to bother me over and over, is that Heath brought up the gift limit again. I would never claim that I was a Tea Partier, I do however agree with some of the things they stand for.

When I think of a Tea Partier I think extremely conservative, extremely far right.
I am aware of Bill Heath and his peer group here in Paulding.

They had the absolute gall to claim that the Tea Partier's that were not only supporting the gift limit but signing up many of the candidates along with "campaigning for it" had suddenly become a liberal group supporting liberal ideas.

I am going to tell people straight up that a supposedly ultra right bunch in this county not only swallowed that hog wash but had the audacity to repeat it.

It was beyond insulting to these follower's of theirs that they would expect them to swallow hook, line and sinker the garbage about the Tea Party. Sad to say many believed it.
This was all I ever needed to know, that this group would discredit the most conservative hard working people to support their personal agenda.

I learned some things, people are ready and willing to drink any Kool-aid as long as it is labeled properly the flavor does not matter a bit. It looks like BS, it smells like BS and it taste like BS it must be BS.

Birds of a feather and all that, this flock stinks to high heaven.

Just received a call claiming to be from "west Georgia tax association" saying Bill Carruth
owes x number of dollars tax and vote for Heath. There is no west Georgia tax association
that I can find. When I called the number back it came up as a disconnected number.
I will sure be glad when this is over.

Where do you vote for run-offs? I'm assuming they aren't opening each precinct, so somewhere central? The courthouse?

Paulding County...proudly the 19th most conservative county in the entire

country. This means that I'm not a liberal; it means you're an extremist.

Each of the precincts will be open tomorrow and we vote at our regular precincts, not at the Courthouse as that was for early voting only. Every precinct is open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

If the Courthouse is your regular precinct location, though, it will be open.

Technically, it was a hot dog but which means it was a wiener and buns and we don't know if it was a lobbyists gift or whether he bought and paid for it.

However, in either case, his intention was to eat the hot dog.

What a shame all those who bad mouthed the only Honest person just so they could get their dishonest one elected and now they have the nerve to try and tell you which dishonest one you should vote for, Seems their word is not worth much. Neither is worth the time, gas, or effort. I think staying back and keeping the dirt off of you is the best thing.

Solo:

You are so naive. What you are saying is if I had supported JK instead of BC, JK would have won ... I think a lot of what Paulding.com can do but I'm not so naive as to think we could win that race on word of mouth.

All I know about this race is that Bill Heath needed it to go to a runoff to have a chance... and it is in a runoff. I also know that unless we unseat him now, those term limits he promised nay back when won't and he'll die in office 12-16 years from now.

Why? Because no one will challenge him because of his reputation of running the dirtiest campaigns in Georgia.
