The way I read this Paulette has won with 59.44% of the vote with 100% precincts reported? I am not a fan of hers but if that is the case all the mud slung in her direction the last few weeks was in vain.
I think we used to get faster results with the old punch card ballots. This is the fraud proof electronic election gadgets.
What in the world takes our county so long to process?
Anybody involved with the process that could tell us?

ETA: Glad all you were so proud of voting for Carruth JK...you likely handed Heath reelection. Brilliant plan.
Fixed it for you.

What about the BOE and Kim' race? Any news on it?
Kim didn't have a race. That Chris roofing guy didn't realize he lived in Cobb,

Well that just confirms to me that we live in a county if fools who are too lazy to research candidates.
Amen...... Sad that voters cast on what some candidates say rather than their actions. Paulette even quit coming to Zumba class because voters were questioning her on education issues. If you serve on a state committee regarding our county's children, seem that you would attempt to assist the citizens you are supposed to represent.
AJC is calling a runoff between Carruth and Heath.
That is another relief. I was looking at the data with who voted for whom. It showed the majority of Paulding voted for Heath while the majority of Haralson county voted for Carruth. I would think the opposite.

Nope, PAC money does make a difference in the results.

Mainly only Absentee and advanced voters have been counted so far. We still have todays votes to go here in Paulding. That should count volumes.
If you get bored waiting, there are some interesting options on the SOS site.
For example, it shows that of the Dist 19 race, The 2200+ ballots currently counted are all early voting or absentee. According to that report, no votes from today's voting have been counted yet.
The reports on voter turnout are interesting too. Some counties are reporting over 60% turnout. Sure, they are smaller counties, but dang, what would it be like to live where people actually care about their government!

As I recall, it was that way also in the last election. Kinda sad when the guy that lives in Haralson has to have Pauling elect him...

My Blood Pressure is sky high waiting. I think I am gonna have an ulcer. COME ON PEOPLE, RELEASE THE RESULTS!!!!!!!
Hey, give them a chance, it takes a while to see which selection on the ballot got the most votes, then to change the name to who they want to win.

You are correct, without Paulding Heath would have lost the last election.

This from the state site with one of three counties reporting, it is looking, given that Rogers is running close to 20 percent in Paulding, a definite runoff.
BILL CARRUTH (REP)
41.62% 8,177
BILL HEATH (I) (REP)
45.39% 8,917
J. K. ROGERS (REP)
12.99% 2,55
It absolutely amazes me that David Austin is only up by 3 points. He's running against a guy whose entire platform has been to put out a lot of signs. I truly feel Austin has done a great job here since he took the helm. The fact that P.O.S Paulette is winning by a much greater margin than Austin just really frustrates my opinion of the voters here in Paulding.

If you will all notice, the votes are proportionately almost identical to the amount of signs out in the county. This proves my theory the entire time that 95% of voters choose candidates ONLY based on signs. Most went to vote for TSPLOST and either voted for the Incumbent or the name they saw on signs. I heard from people today that did EXACTLY that.

I voted for STOP

I think he got hit with a lot of anti-incumbent feelings. We've had at least one on here admit all he did was vote for anyone who didn't have an (I).
It's sad. I shudder to think of what my Property taxes would have been this year had Jerry been reelected last time. Voted Austin.

So far ALL regions have overwhelmingly have voted NO.
I'm seeing three that it is barely passing on the SOS site. Is the Fox5 projection from polls?

I'm surprised to not hear more complaints about this question:
Quote
Republican Party Question 4
Should Citizens who wish to vote in a primary election be required to register by their political party affiliation at least thirty (30) days prior to such primary election?
Many of Paulding's races are decided in the primary. How many would remember 30 days before the primary to register to be able to vote every single time? That would be one way to cut down on voter turnout...
