Most appear to be working in conjunction with the school system, but check with West Ridge.

If you shop around and watch the sales--you can get the basic stuff for little of nothing. And I always buy extra paper, folder, composition books, etc. while they are on sale. If you wait til the middle of the year and have to replenish--it will cost you a fortune. When you can get folders for 10 cents--buy as many as you can!!

Did "back to school" come as a surprise? It's an event that happens each year.

Plan accordingly.

no surprise. God forbid something happen in your life to where you can barely feed your family. God bless you.

I'm not much of a posting type person, so can I delete this whole thing? I didn't think asking a question would get me an insult. I guess some people just like to hurt others. are you like the shooter in colorado? you must be.

There are PENNY supplies out there. PENNY. 1/100th of a dollar. It seems like I'd go after those items and gather what I can rather than handouts. Pride being what it is.

Perhaps spending the last decade providing school supplies for other people's children has made me a bit bitter.

The last part of your comment makes you a bigger asshole than me.

Did you just threaten me and call me a terrorist via PM?

Are you unemployed? Is it because of your temper?

I realize this isn't my fight. I have the need to point out that you said God Bless you in one breath, and accused her of being like a murderer in the next. WTF?

I replied to your PM.

Chill out.

My point was, that these things just didn't manifest themselves overnight. You KNEW the kids would be going back to school soon. You KNEW they would need clothes, etc. Why not buy a little at a time while it's on sale? I simply suggested that you plan ahead.

And to answer your question, while I am employed, I am not currently on company time. I've already put in 20 UNPAID hours this week and I'll put in close to that next week. It's all part of the job.

Send your child to school without supplies. Someone will pick up the slack. No worries.

Starfire and WFAL ...

please do chill.

WFAL ... some folks, particularly those for whom circumstances have placed on the edge, tend to be sensitive to slights and react to harassment in unpredictable ways.

Starfire, cool your jets, don't go off on someone in a knee-jerk reaction because their sarcasm hurt your feelings.

Let me say ignoring and even playing like those who assault you verbally on the site is the best idea.

I can actually say that I can recommend Rep. Paulette Braddock's cool reaction to the question of, would you like to talk about what's going on (from me) on camera ... as just that ... a cool reaction ... That reaction, ... smile, say no comment, smile again and walk away.

It really is a great way to handle confrontations and a lot of folks should take lessons.

pubby

PS: I still wouldn't consider voting for her but I have to give her credit, she holds her tongue admirably showing great self control ... and that is my recommendation to you ladies.

There really was no need for any of this.

And yes, WFAL always seems to have her chit together and a snide, snippy comeback for most everyone.

Don't take it personal, that's the only way she knows how to post.

Being on top of it and all that.

I don't know WFALpersonally, only from what I have read on here.

I know that she genuinely cares about her kids and goes above and beyond which is more than a lot of people do.

She did NOT deserve to be peronally arttacked. My opinion.

LR, none of my post was directed to you I heart you!

WFAL.....

I really am saddened by the hateful remarks that were made to this person.

SOME people really do live penny to penny and some can't make it paycheck to paycheck.
Count yourself blessed to be working for a living but please do not kick someone while they are down.
