Does anyone know of any children shoe stores besides Stride Rite. I have bought shoes from them in the past but there styles are ugly right now. I want someone to measure my child's feet and want a nice selection of good tennis shoes, etc. to chose from.

There is a Coggins Shoe Store on Roswell Road, in the Eastlake shopping center, where Marshalls is. You might call them first, they used to sell alot of Stride Rite stuff--among other brands. Haven't been there in years, but I used to buy my kids shoes from them years ago--and my kids are 29, 30 & 31 now.

They have a nice website - looks like a good place to go!
Abbadabba's also sells kids' shoes.

I haven't been in there lately, hopefully they have some new styles. I didn't care for what I saw last time I was in the store. My son is 5 and is wears around a 12 or 12 1/2, so its kind of an in between size from toddlers and kids. I'm just amazed at how hard it is to find a decent pair of shoes in a neutral color that doesn't have cartoon characters or flashing lights on it.. yuck.
I was out on the Stride Rite website and was appalled at the horrible looking shoes they wanted 50-60 dollars for.
I'll be in B'ham in sometime next week and will stop by Sikes Shoes in Homewood. I hope I can find something there.
