Download the free software here for your computer http://www.kobobooks.com/desktop
Get the book for free as well, http://www.kobobooks...ZKwO6pdC1-w&r=8
If you have the right kind of tablet/phone, it works on there as well.

Thanks...one of the books is "Free", but, how do I know if it's the correct book? There are several on there for different prices. I just want to make sure he reads the correct one....

They are all the same book. I started with the free version then I actually bought one of the others to check. They are just on there by different publishers that have the right to sell the title.
It is a very good book, or what I have read of it so far. It is long, but I think it will be worth it.

Thanks for posting this though. It would be nice to find an unabridged free version online for her to read.

The *abridged* version would be the shorter version - 'unabridged' would be the book as it was originally written.
IMO, it's a shame they're being allowed to read the abridged version of a classic. I don't believe in enabling shortened attention spans.

Just wanted to correct myself. The short version is in the 500 page range and the longer version is closer to 1,500 pages long.

Thanks for the correction. I don't why I keep getting the two terms mixed up.
Also wanted to add that it might be better to let the kids read the shorter version (still in the 500 page range) if they choose. It would free up more time for them to read two more classics than if they were required to read the longer version. I've gotten both and will leave it up to my daughter. This is not the only book and project she had to do over the summer.
