My to-read list at the moment is just huge. It includes at least 20 books I want to finish before the release of Karin Slaughters new book 'Criminal' in July.

They range from Emily Giffin to Stephen King to John Saul to a bunch of others. Truthfully 5 of them are Emily Giffin alone...and another 5 or 6 are King's books. xD

One big question that I have is... 50 Shades of Grey...should I even attempt the first book in the trilogy? Curiosity is a killer, I know. If I give it a try, I am gonna have to make myself finish it...and truthfully, I don't have a lot of interest in it, just curiosity.

Another is... who are your favorite authors and why? What are your favorite books?

I've read everything King has written, literally EVERYTHING.
He's my favorite.

As for 50 Shades......I read all 3.
Only because BY GOD I PAID FOR THEM I was GOING to read them!!
The writing is awful.
There's only so many kinky sex scenes one can take before you're like "give me a little story here please!"
It's a little like trying to read bad porn.
Heavy on sex, weak on story line.
If your into erotica, mayhap you'd like the books.
I know a lot of people did, but not me.

Erotica isn't my thing. I can barely stand the romantic suspense novels...anything too detailed I can't really get into... at least as far as erotica is concerned.

Have you read 11/22/63 or Bag of Bones yet?
I am loving Bag of Bones so far, and looking forward to 11/22/63.

Hubs is reading 11/22/63 right now; he LOVES it, and this man never, ever reads fiction.

I tried a sample in my Kindle of 50 Shades. Writing was terrible, and I couldn't even finish it. I'm not into erotica.

Though I did just finish "Code of Misconduct" by CA Griffith, and it was VERY good!

It's about a retired detective from the ATL area that moves to Daytona Beach. He gets pulled into a sheriff's department corruption scandle unwittingly, but he can't get out once he's in... It's really good. I couldn't put it down. It sort of reminds me of a Sandra Brown novel, but more in depth on the police side, if that makes sense. Not her romance stuff; I don't do romance. But her mystery/thriller stuff.

Also, I read every genre out there except romance. LOL I love to read.

You will LOVE the Dark Tower series!!!
They are TRUELY King's best work.

I like Dean Koontz too, but he tends to tie things up in a nice neat little bow at the end of the book.
King's will left evil happen just because it sometimes does!

Koontz's best work is Intensity.
That book will have you SPEEDING through it!!
You won't be able to put it down!!

I also like Anne Rice's Vampire stories.
She can be a diffcult read at times, but I love the vampire stories.
Vampires are hott!

I have only done Romance once... and it was a complete and total accident, but it ended up being one of my favorite books when I was around 17/18. It was called Howling in the Darkness (and no it wasn't a werewolf book lol), it was written by B.J. Daniels.

Honestly, the romance scenes in the book weren't really detailed, they 'faded' out before they got too serious, if I remember correctly, and there was only one or two in the whole book. *shrug*

I will try any Genre and actually found that I love Jennifer Wiener's 'Chick Lit' and even a few of the 'Dog Lit' books. I am sure that isn't what it is called, but I mean books like 'Lost & Found' and 'Now & Then' by Jacqueline Sheehan and The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I want to read Walking in Circles Before Lying Down by Merill Markoe, but I haven't been able to find a good used copy of it yet.

My favorite genres are mystery, murder, law, horror and some just plan literature. <3 Have you read anything by Karin Slaughter MrsB? She is a local Georgia author and all her books take place in Georgia. You should check her out!

Blondiega1 - I should lend you my copy of Lost & Found. In all honesty, it is the book that started my lab love. If I could bring your Coco home with me I would. I've been debating adopting another dog (a lab), but... I am not sure if my Mayla would allow me to. First things first,I seriously need to find my kitty and a job. -.-; I am having no luck.

Hmm... I guess I forgot the Sookie Stackhouse novels were considered Romance cause I own and have read everyone of those. xD That is an addiction and the tv show True Blood is defiantly a 'guilty' pleasure of mine. At first I hated it, cause it was just sooo different from the books, but at the same time I was happy some characters that were suppose to die, didn't.

I was given the Game of Thrones series as a present... but I am scared I won't be able to get into them. I'm putting off the TV series until I do read them though. <3 I haven't read 'Running With Scissors' yet, but I will have to check it out.

I actually just picked up book two from Target last night!
It will make you cry a little, but you'll enjoy it I promise you!

And yeah, I filled out an application and had an interview. They had another applicant that had more experience.
It wasn't meant to be, so I'll just keep putting in apps anywhere and everywhere.

50 Shades. Sigh. When someone tells me that they loved it and couldn't put it down...I really do lose just a little respect for them.

Have you read Bag of Bones, I finished it the other day and was amazed! I once read and interview with Stephen King where he said he couldn't right a 'love' story .. and while it isn't romance...it was amazingly addicting. Not his best work of course, but it kept me on the edge of my seat (and up reading all night)

There are book clubs on Goodreads, if you didn't know this, that pick out different books to read. I haven't participated in any of them yet. I like picking what I want to read and when I want to read it. I am apart of Bound Together ( http://www.goodreads...-bound-together ) on there though, and I do plan on reading The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman
