What is the story with the old house on the corner of Hiram-Sudie and Davis Mill (at the stop sign)? It has not looked lived in for years. Now there seems to be some fixing up going on. I love old houses and it always made me sad that this house appeared to be a wonderful family home at one time, but not cared for over the years.

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I couldn't find it.

There has always been someone taking care of the yard. I have seen him over the last 14 years. He has the garden on the side also. They have some sort of family reunion there once a year as well...usually around July 4th. I to have noticed they seem to be fixing it up. Maybe a family member is fixing it up for someone to move back into..not sure

That information is not entirely true . The home was last owned by a Barber and it was not forclosed on but sold after his death to the Arney's. I know this for a fact he was my husband's Great Grandfather and we looked at the house ourselves to buy around 1976.It is a beautidul old homeplace and I hope they do live in it again sometime.

If anyone knows them personally, ask if the chest freezer on the porch is dead (I'm pretty sure it is tho). If so and they'd like to get rid of it for asthetic purposes, I'll take it off their hands. They make great, safe & bug/critter-proof storage for horse feed. ;)

They have been working on it for over 3 months now. I go that way everyday to the gym and work and have been seeing them with dumpsters and really cleaning it up. I would love to see it revamped!
