Reaching out to the arts and crafts worlds: what are some of the things that you are making? Or waint to make?

I'm making Easter eggs. I know Easter is over but I'm getting a start on next year's centerpiece. I'm collecting the large ostrich eggs, painting them pastel colors and then painting flowers or celtic crosses on them.

I am making an outside, above ground, aquarium. It will have a huge thermal pain glass in the side facing my house. It will be covered by its own roof. I am making it so I can add another section, but plan on 1,000 gal. being suffic1ent for my present collection of Koi. :drinks:

Turning an old trunk into a dress up trunk for my BF's daughter. Then I've got some sewing projects lined up.

Still doing Carpenter Bee Traps, Bat Houses, and have 2 of the big Master Gardener Benches underway. One is sold, one is "spec". I build these with a mortise and tenon construction, where they are nice to look at, strong, and will for all practical purposes, out last the Master Gardner. But the set ups for all the mortise joints is tedious and time consuming. Hence to build at least 2 at a time to take advantage of the set ups to cut the dados and mortises.

Melissa uses her gardeners bench 4 or 5 hours a week, potting up seedlings, transplanting herbs and other plants, and with her orchids and tropicals as well as tomatoes, etc.

And it is convienent for her to have all her tools, ferilizer, pots, potting soil, etc., right where she needs them, protected from the weather and at her fingertips.

I'm into macaroni art and turkeys made from tracing my hands.

I have several works in progress, but none are progressing real fast. I am knitting a sweater for my son from a friend's wool I bought last summer. I have front and back done, but need to finish it with sleeves and neck. I have several wine bottles cut, but have yet to complete them into candle lanterns like intended. And lastly, I have 2 dresses cut for the friend who has the sheep, but still have to sew them! Maybe if I focused on one thing....

I like that, too. It looks well made. I look at the forums at the gardenweb website and some blogs for inspiration for something I might make. What about you? I'm thinking about making some flowers out of cold porcelain. Have you tried making anything with that?

I make signs out of rusted roof pieces from an old barn in Georgia. We also make them on pvc frame for your camping spot. Here are some examples below.

I hope I don't get in trouble w/ Pubby this time - I have a dozen or so dragons under way.

Kinda like these: http://paulding.com/...dragon-slayers/

(And I still think the artist's annual membership needs to be less $ than the commerce memberships that true commercial members pay. 8) )
Who is John Gault? - He's the successful business owner who didn't want to play by the new 'Law of the Land' so he closed up shop, packed up his stuff and left. He was joined by many other successful business owners who did the same. They stayed away until the government begged them to return and repealed the law.

The birdbaths and planters are amazing!

I've been dabbling in acrylic on canvas. I always loved to draw and it makes me happy.
I do better with abstract than I do with "real" subjects though. I can't do people or animals at all.
I can however draw a mean cartoon!

This is a copy of a sort of "pop art" poster on canvas that I did for someone who is into that.

If you look closely, Buddha seems to bear an uncanny resemblance to Marlon Brando in The Godfather. :pardon:
