Misophonia How common is it?

My hubby doesn't have misophonia (that I know of) but it absolutely drives him crazy to hear someone chewing. This was such a problem when my kids were smaller that we finally had to stop eating dinner together as a family just to keep the peace.

My son is that way and we very seldom eat together as a family. Drinking and breathing noises bother him too - not just a little bit but make him angry where he has to get away from it. Makes it hard to do anything together as a family, especially if it involves traveling very far in the car.
