I've never known anyone with this condition, it sounds like a real pain in the butt to deal with. Both for the person dealing with the condition as well as the people around them.

You seem to have too good of a sense of humor to be dealing with this. Good luck.

I have a hypersensitivity to background noises. Somedays don't bother me that bad but on my worst days I can even hear the humming or fluorescent lights and it seems so loud that I can't concentrate on anything else. It is a pain.
My hubby doesn't have misophonia (that I know of) but it absolutely drives him crazy to hear someone chewing. This was such a problem when my kids were smaller that we finally had to stop eating dinner together as a family just to keep the peace.

My son is that way and we very seldom eat together as a family. Drinking and breathing noises bother him too - not just a little bit but make him angry where he has to get away from it. Makes it hard to do anything together as a family, especially if it involves traveling very far in the car.

I think men develop this early in life to female sounds that don't stroke their ego.
