Laurie Penney visits with Senate 31 Candidate Jason "JK" Rogers on his bid for office Twelve minutes with District 19 Candidate Michael James Laurie Penney got Paulding's mystery man Michael James to sit down and talk about the race for Georgia 19th District House seat. He gives his background both in the mining industry and as a teacher and explains how his life experiences have led him to the sometimes controversial positions he takes such as two strikes you're dead to child molesters. The interview lasts about twelve minutes. At the top is Laurie's 17 minutes interview with JK Rogers. Rogers, who has a masters degree in Public Administration from Kennesaw, is the head investigator for the Cobb Solicitors office and while he has never held public office, came within a hair's breath of forcing the 2008 Sheriff's race into a runoff.

Just wanted to let folks know we posted the interview Laurie had today with JK Rogers ... and to say it is alright to comment about these folks.

We expect to have more interviews of candidates in the future and hope to bring together a panel of candidates together to talk about various issues confronting the community.

I think this is great. This may be the only exposure people in the community get to hear the candidates. I am pretty sure I know who I am voting for in both the Senate and House race, but I still would like to hear what they all have to say.

Is there some way to fix this - I opened this post and noticed that it also has an interview with JK Rogers attached to it, but the title doesn't say that it does (so I only expected to hear the interview with Michael James).

I may ask Pubby to change the title to say meet the Paulding candidates as I am going to try to interview everyone that will agree to it. I feel very strongly about people casting an informed vote.

I agree!! Like the candidates or not, we need to take the time to get to know the people we are voting into office!
