I have cried and cried over this but there is nothing else I can do but ask for help. The 44.00 was the amount of the check I received for the month.I passed out in the middle of the night more than likely from the anemia a couple weeks ago. The while I was in the hospital I had a heart attack right after the put the cath in though my right leg to my heart. I have to go to an Oncologist as soon as I can afford it. Any help that can be given will be a godsend. Please I ask for your help and your mercy for my family. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I too am confused? Do you need money for drs appts, gas, food, insurance?
Do you have insurance? If they think you have cancer, why would you put off going to an oncologist, insurance or not? Time is of the escense (sp)? Most won't turn you away for not having insurance, either.
Do you have a job? I'm guessing "yes" based on the comment of $44. However, if you make that little of money, perhaps you could get emergency Medicaid? I am not one to take a "hand out", but if it means the difference in care for a life or death situation, I'm not beyond taking it.

Good luck.

Spunkywman, I checked the community resources listed on the Pcom Community Chest page. I noticed these two. Have you phoned and talked to anyone at these locations? I imagine from what you have said that you are strained physically and emotionally. I think it would help if you could talk to someone with a background in that sort of thing to help you see what resources you have, determine your most pressing needs, what's out there in the community, etc.

being in the hospital for a week put me on FMLA. Ate up all the sick/personal time I had saved. It didnt help that I could not be cleared to go back to work. On top the heart attack I had a biopsy on a spot that was found my lung and large intestine. The results were sent to an oncologist. I was not told the results. Only told I had to go see them. I had to be cleared by the cardiologist first. Because of everything that happened my check for the month was 44.00. It would take longer to explain how my Boss helped to make sure I paid as little as possible.

I feel the same way about you. Believe me, I KNOW what it's like to get hit with some rough circumstances that make it seem almost impossible to ever recover physically, financially, etc. You will recover from this and be even better because of it. I know that is very hard to see now but be encouraged.

If you'll list some things you need here or in a PM, I'm sure those of us who want to, can find some real help for you. I'm not in Paulding anymore but I know LOTS of good peopel there who are always willing to help.

I am not trying to scam anyone and if that would it looks like I am doing then I withdraw my need for help. P.C. Shopper I have 44 dollars to live on for the month. Yes its looks as though I may have cancer. I keep becoming anemic. I have already had one blood transfusion. I have need for another but now I am vitamin D as well. I have lost 5 pounds in the last week alone. Yes this oncologist turned me away because I couldn't meet the 45.00 copay. I am not trying to take advantage or scam anyone. I have 44.00 to live on for a month. I have tried to get help government agencies.

Not everyone thinks that way, SW. Dont withdraw your thread. It takes a lot to ask for help sometimes and who hasnt been there, if we are being honest? If they never have, THEY WILL...wait for it.

I am sorry. I never meant anything other than try to get some help. The 44.00 check I received was devastating. I am not a trying to pull a scam of any kind. I am sorry if I caused that impression.

Dont give the negative comments your time or energy. There are plenty of good people here who believe in helping others however they can and do not automatically assume everyone who asks for help is a con artist.

I believe in helping those who need help. It is then between them and God as to what they do with it.

I never thought you were trying to scam anyone for the record!! I just was unsure what you needed help with. Your post was just kind of hard to understand what was going on.

Do you have insurance?

Do you need help financially with everything or just with the doctors appointments?

Also, Have you talked to the oncologist about any payment options they have?

I know how expensive going to the oncologist can be. I wonder if they have some type of payment options to help people.

Caroline Elizabeth I wasnt talking about you just the general reaction to my request. Sometimes I really hate how words come across in a way they are meant to be. Yes I have insurance and have talked to the Oncologist about not being able to pay my co-pay. They dont have any programs to help. Caroline Elizabeth (my middle name is Elizabeth too buy the way) I have 44.00 to live on for the month. That includes everything. Food to rent to utilities and so forth.

You can talk to your dr and hospital. They will work with you if you have no insurance. They give lots off of the bill. If you qualify sometime you can get free care. Talk to them and let everyone know up front your situation.

Spunkywoman:

So sorry to hear of your plight. It is not good news.

This is in the community chest but I don't think the folks who do that have contacted you yet so you aren't yet in the approved category. You've been on the site for years and I've always considered you straightforward. The folks in the CC will ask some questions and verify your situation. I'd encourage you to cooperate with them because folks here, with the confidence that comes from that peek, will go to the wall for you. You know it is just the way we do things.

We're pulling for you and concerned. There is help out there and if you keep having doors slammed in your face, you stick with it and you'll have some very demanding advocates on your side.

Did they refuse to see you and didn't offer you any options or suggestions to help? If so, maybe another doctor would be a better choice? I don't know. Maybe someone else can offer their thoughts?

Pubby I have never been dishonest and I thank you for your encouraging words. I didnt try to hide who I am by asking to be anonymous and have honest been about whats going on. I will answer any questions that is asked of me. I called St. Vincent De Paul Society and was told to call back on Monday which I will. I also called Tallatoona Paulding Human Resource Development Center and was told they were out of funds but I put myself on the waiting list. Thank you again Pubby.

No they wouldnt see me until I had the co-pay. Guys I am scared. My hair is coming out in handfuls, I get sick when I eat and I have to stand still for a few moments when I stand up so I dont pass out again. Just going up or down the stairs makes my chest hurt and its hard to breathe.

Maybe you should go to the emergency room now! That does not sound okay. I would just go to er and maybe they can help you better medically and financially. They may know of more places who could help.

I cant believe they would not see you.

I will see what I can do, but I do think you need to just go to er if you are that sick

It's summer time so it's the perfect time for someone with your job to get the help......because that means you won't miss any more work.
Shoot me a pm with your number. I'll be in Hiram this afternoon and can drop by with some help.

I know for sure that if you go to the hospital, there is some kind of sliding scale for people with no ins., also, they can't turn you away if you truly need help. And quite honestly, the bill would be the last thing on my mind if I was having the symptoms you are describing. It's a govt program and my daughter had a bill go down to $10.00. They also have an onsite pharmacy at Paulding where the meds are $10.00. I've know several people who have used it.

I'll be happy to pay a copay, just need to know where to send the $$.

It's summer time so it's the perfect time for someone with your job to get the help......because that means you won't miss any more work.
Shoot me a pm with your number. I'll be in Hiram this afternoon and can drop by with some help.

I have never heard of that before. Does that apply to Paulding and Cobb General?

I know for sure that if you go to the hospital, there is some kind of sliding scale for people with no ins., also, they can't turn you away if you truly need help. And quite honestly, the bill would be the last thing on my mind if I was having the symptoms you are describing. It's a govt program and my daughter had a bill go down to $10.00. They also have an onsite pharmacy at Paulding where the meds are $10.00. I've know several people who have used it.

I'll be happy to pay a copay, just need to know where to send the $$.

Is there a possibility that what is happening to you is work-related? A warehouse exposure, working around chemicals, etc.?

I am considering going to the E.R. but that another $150 unless I am admitted which is what I am afraid will happen.

GO TO THE ER! You say you have insurace which is a good thing. You cannot be refused treatment and when you leave if you cannot pay the $150 co-pay they are not going to keep you until you can. They will have you sign a promisory note and you can make payment arrangements with the financial dept later. Don't be afraid of being admitted to the hospital. They can get you seen by the oncologist while hospitalized. Don't worry about the bills.....deal with that later. Your health TODAY is what needs to be addressed. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted. Praying for peace and answers.

We need someone trustworthy with a central location like Curtis to use as a drop off point or a paypal account.

I am sorry. I didnt know. I can meet at one of three places close by Ingles, CVS or where the old move theater was. I think the endless yard sale is in the same parking lot.
