We will add additional names and information to this list at the completion of qualifying.

The above candidate list should be complete at that point provided that none of the candidates are challenged as to residency or for other reasons.

The qualifying is for the Republican Primary set for Tuesday, July 31, 2012, and for House Districts 66 and 67, Democratic Primary (although both Democrats are unopposed.) Hence, there will be a race in November for those two house seats. Other than those House districts, it is not believed that any candidates will qualify for any Paulding County posts and the decision made in the Republican primary will determine the winner of the election to these posts of public trust.

Here's a surprise:

Incumbent Post 1 Commissioner Larry Ragsdale is apparently calling it quits after two candidates chose to challenge his continued service on the Paulding County Commission.

Challenging him are Heidi Leggett, who qualified earlier today just before the deadline and David Carmicheal. We'll find out more about those folks as the campaigns progress.

The phone is ringing off the hook here and there will be more as the day progresses.
