Mrs. Myrtis Irene Evans, age 73, of Dallas Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice.



Mrs. Evans was born on January 31, 1939 in Fort Payne, AL to loving parents the late Mr. John Glenn Martin and Mrs. Ida Maude Sims Martin. She is also preceded in death by her two daughters in law Mrs. Jodie Ragan Evans who passed on February 11, 2011, and Mrs. Judith Jones Wiley who passed on May 11, 2001, and two brothers Mr. Pete Martin and Mr. G. W. Martin.



Irene was a member of Martinville Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She played the guitar and enjoyed singing gospel music. She cooked and canned, and enjoyed spending time in the mountains.



Mrs. Irene Evans is survived by her beloved husband Mr. Coy Evans; one daughter Miss Valerie Evans; four sons Reverend and Mrs. Donny (Lisa) Evans, Mr. & Mrs. Robert E. (Wanda) Evans, Mr. & Mrs. David (Chartaina) Wiley and Mr. John D. Evans all of Dallas, GA; eight grandchildren Kasey Reeves, Coleman Evans, Joshua Evans, Rebekah Evans, John Evans, Tyler Evans, Austin Evans, and Alex Evans; three great grandchildren Adam Justin Reeves, Maeggan Elizabeth Reeves, and Lucas Dakota Jack Reeves; one brother Mr. Jimmy Martin of Dallas, GA; two sisters Mrs. Frances Swann of Powder Springs, GA, and Mrs. Ruby Harper of Dallas, GA; five half-sisters Mrs. Reba Stephens of Boaz, AL, Mrs. Mary Fowler, Mrs. Syble Campbell both of Ft. Payne, AL, Mrs. Audrey Jarrell of Centre, AL, and Mrs. Shirley Grant of Dallas, GA; many nieces and nephews as well as other beloved family members and friends.



Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Evans will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2 pm with the Reverend Jeff Clark and Reverend Junior Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Clark, Bobby Christian, Daryl Blacksmith, and The Evans Family Singers. Gary Hill, Ricky Harper, Blake Harper, Coty Harper, Donnie Nicholson, and Brian Cochran will be serving as pall bearers. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Park.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 3 – 9 pm and Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9 am until the time of service.

The Evan's family is so sweet. Val and her family was one of the 1st people I met in when I moved to paulding at her sub shop.
