If you do not mind to have it shipped, call Mill and Mine Supply Co. In Chattanooga. They would have this, and their prices are great. They are a family owned business, and have been running for 60 years.

surepip, it probably just needs a brush kit - less than $10 if I recall correctly. You are welcome to borrow my 12in. (I know where you live!) if you just need for a project.

I was hoping top find someone who had one sitting in the corner of the garage unused for the past year or so who wanted to sell it.

here is a nice one: http://atlanta.craig...2984466516.html

if it just "does not work" try to rotate the blade (get it spinning) and then hit the power. About the only think that goes wrong (wears) is the brushes which are about $5 each.

Thanks. The brushes are fine.

The switch has been "taking spells" for awhile now, where you might have to pull it 2 or 3 times before it would engage. Then it will be fine for 2 months.

I took the handle apart and got the switch out, and have ordered another one, BUT, the DeWalt system is showing it as backordered indefinitely and another parts list shows it as obsolete. Jill at the Norcross Service Center is checking it out for me.

I disassembled the switch, and I think, one of the springs was off the little tab button. Could not tell for sure as 1 spring and contact block fell out as soon as I pried the cover off.

I reassembled it [I know what a watch repairman goes through now]; tested the continuity, and it showed the NC on the brake was fine, and opened when the trgger was pulled and the NO on the motor was off, and showed on when pulled.

Put it all back together, plugged it in, and it works.Posted Image

But, I know my days are numbered and if I can't find a replacement switch anywhere then it is just a question of time before it dies.

We were joking about doing that, but it is a double pole single throw switch, with a NO and NC paor of contacts and there is not enough room in the handle assembly to pull the wires back and splice on. I have some pneumatic ones in stock, which are "Dead-Man" in that when you lift you foot it stops.

It is a thought though for keeping the old girl running when the switch gives up the ghost again.
