The inaugural Race For Education is sponsored by the Paulding Education Foundation, partnering with business to benefit Paulding County School schools. Stay after the race for the awards ceremony and Cinco De Mayo fiesta brought to you by local business sponsors!

Just a reminder that this is this Saturday, even if you or your child choose not to run or walk in the event you are still invited to come downtown and participate in the fun activities planned for the children.

I think my husband and son will be running. When I mentioned signing up myself if hubby had to work both he and my daughter laughed out loud.

Come on out for the 5K Fiesta Fun Zone even if you are not running the race!!!
On the Courthouse Square
Starting at 9am booths will be set up with games and activities for families.
Three inflatables will be open to kids
Health Hound Dog will be in attendance
Wii fit stations will be in the United Healthcare
And a DJ will keep the crowd entertained

Walk Up Registration: Same day registration is available. Please arrive early to provide time to enter your registration into the system.
Location: The race start will be in front of the police station on Main Street. The address is 25 Courthouse Square, Dallas, GA 30132.
Time: Stop by the registration booth (in front of the police station) beginning at 7:30 am to pick up your bib/number and receive your tshirt and race bag.
The 5K race will begin at 9 am. Walkers and strollers are welcome but please line up toward the rear. Tshirts: These will be distributed at the registration/check-in booth.
Entrants Received by April 30th will receive tshirts. All others will need to pick their shirts up at the School Board office or we will make arrangements to send them to your school, if you listed a school.
Race Bags: These will be distributed at the registration/check-in table. They are first come first served.
Route: The race route is linked above. The beginning and ending will be in front of the Police Station.
Timing: All 5K entrants will get a chip timed bib. Race times will be posted at www.pauldingeducationfoundation.com and emailed Monday following the race, if not earlier. This is a USATF certified course.
Awards: Presented at 10:15 am in front of the Old Courthouse. Trophies will be provided to the top male and female overall. The male and female 1st place finishers in each of the age categories (Under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and Over) will receive a medal if you provided your age/birthdate.
All 1K runners entered by today will receive a small medal of participation. We have ordered extras but 1K entrants after today may not receive a medal.
1K Run: The 1K Run will begin at approximately 9:50 am once all of the 5K runners have crossed the finish line.
You are welcome to run with your child if that will make your child more comfortable. The Kid run will begin at the Start Line on Main Street, run down Hardee Street to Highland Ave, then turn around and run back.
This race will not be chip times, but the large clock will be on display for reference.
Water: A water station will be supplied about 1.5 miles into the race. Water bottles and bananas will be available at the end of the race for entrants.
Food: Volunteers will be selling ChickFilA chicken biscuits, water and juice for spectators.
Photography: A professional event photographer will be on hand to take candid pictures. A link to the pictures will be emailed out following the race and you may purchase the images.
Parking: There are many free lots around the downtown area. Please allow ample time to park and register before the 9 am start time.
