I looks like Tony Crow is running for commissioner again. But I am seeing his signs in Post 3. Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought he ran in a different District last time.

Anyone know?

Oh never mind. I had no idea he was running for commission chairman.

Chairman ?

After Mr Austin's failure to even attempt to settle our lawsuits, AND spend another $500,000 of tax payer money to keep us from getting any justice, Mr Crow may have a supporter in yours truly.

Yup, running against David Austin.
Wonder how many people are gonna be serious about voting this time or if things will be left status quo?

I hear what your screaming. Like we have learned in the past, politics make for some strange bedfellows. The article I saw had a photo of Ithy. But I am all about Feelip and who is going to do the most to help Feelip is who will be getting my support.

I supported David Austin. And Tommie Graham. And David Barnett. And Todd Pownall.

I DID NOT ask any of them for a "Quid-pro-Qup" or any favors or favoritism.

I DID ask them to do the right thing.

Since Austin and Graham have been in office, they have spent another $500,000, on top of the $750,000 Shearin and company spent to try to bankrupt and break us before we can fully exercise our 1st Amendment right to seek redress against government for doing us WRONG.

In a nutshell, they lied to us. They told us they would settle when the Judge ruled.

The Judge ruled in November of 2010. The JUDGE issued a Judgement against the Board of Commissioners and Holland & Knight Law firm in the amount of $265,113.68 on July 6, 2011.

Instead of paying us for our legal fees, and letting the case move on to court, they appealed the Judgement. Another $100,000 down the drain, trying to break us.

Justice delayed is Justice denied, and they continue to deny us.

Oh, yes....they did make us an offer, to pay half out legal fees and give us back the 12-1/2 feet of front yard they let the developer simply take, while they looked the other way. So in another words, they would settle with us making us pay $175,000 to get back our own property we are STILL paying taxes on......minus the trees, shrubs, dirt, and other native plants we had there. In essence, we would be allowed to spike concrete curbs down the middle of the road, turning it into a 1 lane alley in front of our property, and we ONLY would have to be paying $175,000 for that priveledge.

Politicians.....if their lips are moving, you know they are lying.Posted Image

I will be looking at the qualifications of both candidates. I will also check David's record as Commission Chair. If he did the best things for Paulding County that could be done then he will get my vote. I will be voting for one of these men not against one of them because of personal disagreements. I want what is best for Paulding because that will effect my pocket book.

As of this point in time I don't know what Tony Crow has to offer.

But I do know what David Austin has done to date in our case, and that is to throw away another half a million dollars of Paulding County Tax Payer money to protect one of the "Chosen" developers while doing their best to break us just because we chose to stand up and exercise our 1st Amendment right to protest what the government had done, and was doing to us.

Wrong David, wrong.

All we ever asked was that you do the right thing and instead you choose to protect the developer and the county employees who stole our property, took our buffers, poisoned our water while filing false reports with the state EPD. You did us wrong. You know your predecessors did us wrong and you are perpetuating the same actions by continuing to pay Holland&Knight to try to break us.

Wrong David;. Wrong.

Same for you Tommie, and the rest of you.

I don't see where Tony Crow can do any worse that you guys have. How many employees could still have their jobs with the county with the $1.25MILLION+ you have paid to Holland & Knight to litigate us to death ?

Are you doing the "Right Thing" ?

I too voted for Austin last time, and I will not be voting for him again.

I'm looking for a candidate who won't waste our money. There have been many examples of wasteful spending at the county level in the last 3 years. Spending $1.3M litigating a case that could have been settled out of court for $100K is wasting our money! Millions are being spent to support their "build it and they will come" philosophy (airport expansion, toll road, movie studio). Anything is fair game as long as the term "economic development" can be tacked onto it.

I think it was the economist Herbert Stein who said "that which cannot continue, won't". We cannot continue to spend, spend, spend.

Unfortunately, Paulding County has a long history of cronyism and it will continue until we open-up the process so that everyone can see, and then challenge the people of PC to keep watch over it.

I see from Crowe's website that he is advocating "open government" and he has provided some specifics on how he will get there. We were promised greater transparency last time and what we got was just the opposite.

 I will be happy to tell you what I know about these candidates. I do not like the idea of a toll road but I love what is happening with the hospital. I will be asking both candidates about their stand, as of now, on the T-SPLOST and any toll roads. Yep it could swing my support and my vote.

I will say that since Austin took office I haven't felt like some SOB was sneaking up behind me, knifing me for my wallet, like I did with his predecessor.

So far I haven't seen the new rich boy move into power and start telling the BOC what to do, but I don't feel the need to watch them like I did the last bunch.

The one that concerns me is the senate race. Sure would like to see a good candidate get in that race.

Not only with this election but also with the Presedential election coming up, I am excercising my right to vote.

Sadly, my ballot will not be cast in Favor of one candidate but rather in Opposistion of one.

There is nobody worth voting for here, only those worth voting against.

If you are speaking of the District 31 Senate race there are already 3 candidates who have announced. Bill Heath-I, Bill Carruth, and Jason Rogers. I don't think either of our Washington Senators are up this year.

What can I do to make sure Bill Heath doesnt win? If I could I would fund the entire campaign against him myself.

If you feel that way you should contact one of his opponents and work for him.

I may do that. I wish I had more time to allocate.

After the COMPLETE CRAZINESS Heath has shown over the last years, I refuse to live somewhere with a nut-job like him representing me. Somehow I do not see how Sunday sales will increase the amount of homosexuality in our youth, and I do not see then sense in keeping female castration legal because you cannot get piercings outlawed with it. These are just two of the idiocies to come from our rep.

He's a little too far out there for me as well. Problem is, I think he might suck less than at least one of the other choices.

I don't know much about Rogers other than he ran for sheriff once. I don't see him having much of a chance against an incumbent and the kind of money Carruth has backing him.

Be nice to have someone that was actually interested in putting some money in OUR pockets.

Off hand, I would venture to guess the local big money will be behind Carruth,

If the Egg Farm Road, nee Bill Carruth Parkway was fully exposed I would guess it could hurt him. He had his Daddy-in-Law buy ALL of the Egg Farm Road land from Southern Empire Eggs, for CHUMP change, while he was the commission chairman, .......and then, Low and Behold, we have the Hiram Bypass, nee Bill Corrupt Parkway come right through there.

Sell the corner to Wellstar, build a road with State funding, and the whole old group was off to the races to develope what was a landlocked chunk of worthless land.

Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Just a big co-ink-a-dinky!!!Posted Image

Nice when you have some inside information that $5000 an acre land will be worth $45,000 an acre when a road comes through it. But I am sure it was just luck, and a coincidence,.....right ?Posted Image

The rich boys are still telling the BOC what to do. Go look at campaign contributions and you'll see. I don't know how we compare to neighboring counties, but the politics in Paulding County stinks to high-heaven, and it always has.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Open it up so that all information is easily accessible on the web. That's the only way we'll ever fix it. Surprisingly, the state of Georgia has already set an excellent example that we should follow: http://open.ga.gov/
