I must be losing my mind. I went to the bank to make a deposit today. I had two checks from a client. As a general rule, if she's not in the office, I sign them (she has given me permission to do so). As I left the bank I got to thinking and realized that one of the checks had not been signed by her OR me and I don't believe either of them had been signed.

My question--will the checks go through without being signed? I seem to recall having seen some clear accounts before that were not signed and others that were signed but had no payee.

Last week, I threw away a check from a client. Totally and completely by ACCIDENT! I'm not used to that client paying me by check and for some reason, the check along with two rebate checks went in the garbage.

Nope. That one made it to the bank. Sorry. :pardon: But the client whose check I threw away is giving me a (good natured) hard time about it. Thank goodness they know me well.

The teller didn't catch it. And I've seen it happen more than once, too. More than once for this particular client in fact.

We have hundreds of payments go through our system here and found many after the fact that never were signed and we have yet to have one returned. You would think they would check for that but apparently it's not a big deal to them!

Already told you I know nothing about any check......:pardon: . Which should be clearly indicated by the fact that I didn't leave you another one when you came by!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I do 10 stupid things a day, all before lunch, and I'm still kicken.

Well, I don't know nothing about a sales tax return either. :glare:

Tell Joe I want to wheel and deal with him on one of those items he showed me yesterday. He will know what I'm talking about. ;)

Good natured hard time. :good:

It would be one thing if I had forgotten to give the checks to the client to sign but I have check signing authority and I STILL forgot it!!

You only do 10 stupid things a day before lunch? I got you beat. I usually do that many before I get going good.

They were properly endorsed. At least I got THAT part right. And I didn't throw them away.
