TWC says frost advisory (frost is expected) from 2am-10am Thursday morning. Brrr.
And I just had to turn a bit of heat on.

Anything below 40F can be detrimental to tomatoe, peppers, cukes, squash, okra, beans, etc. All the HOT weather plants.

On the other hand, lettuce, snow peas and sugar snap peas, potatoes, onions, parsley, arugula, cabbage, broccoli, etc., LOVE the cooler nights as long as they don't go below 30F.

Last week i was in capris and tee shirts and now im layered up like an eskimo...Nanny always called this "blackberry winter" but she can KEEP IT!!!! Im freezing and i know what i have planted last week as seeds in the garden is gonna need replanting when i get back from the mtns next week but such is life. I didnt risk taking any houseplants outside or buying any annuals just yet....with Easter being so early this year i JUST KNEW we'd have one more cold snap and they'd get bit. Good luck covering and keeping yall's stuff alive though...I really do hope everyone's things dont get damaged. In the meantime Ill keep mine in the greenhouse till i return from where ITS EVEN COLDER...brrrrr...Im gonna be zipping thru trees on ziplines at 10:30 in the morning Friday freezing to death while my gal friend is gonna be loving the cooler temps!!

I still have shorts on  windows raised, and fans going...

I did, but the Mrs is home and closed everything up.

I am NOT looking forward to the summer we have coming, even more so if our "spring" weather is an indicator of what we have to come.

I agree.... I am dreading the summer hot weather.... i am dreading it more for my mama she has having some health issues and the hot weather will not be good on her at all. but i love the cool weather... to me this is perfect weather, cool enough not to burn up, and warm enough to enjoy the nice sunny weather..

How long a period do you harvest broccoli?

Years ago before we moved here we had a neighbor that grew broccoli. He gave us some and it was the best we have ever tasted. It was so firm---so fresh. I've never seen any in the stores that came close.
