I'm 26 years old and still call my grandmother when I'm bored, under stress, or need someone to talk to. Actually, I call her every few days just because I kinda feel like something is 'off' if I haven't talked to her in a few days. It's 1:13 on a Sunday morning, I'm WIDE awake...and I can't call her, because she's golfing in Myrtle Beach.
She's 81, and just now complaining that a day of bowling, meals-on-wheels, doing taxes at the senior center, and an evening church service cause her to be tired before midnight.
So, who do you call when you're bored? I can't be the only grown-adult still ridiculously attached to their grandparents...right?

My BIL, we both stay up until 2-4 in the morning no matter what we have to get up the next day.
It's pretty cool having one, back in December he said he never had a brother growing up, and likes having one now. And I never had an older brother growing up. And we both function on the same maturity level too, about that of a 12 year old.
I fantasize about my dogs having jobs. I pretend that both of them are window cleaners and their kennel is their first starter home. I think the bigger dog is trying to bump off the smaller dog so he can have the kennel to himself. I know I have a problem, but don't animals have to earn a living too?
Dogs may not be our whole lives, but they make our lives whole.
A dog is not "almost human" and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.
The more I see of humans, the more I admire dogs.
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
The dog is a gentleman, I hope to go to his heaven, not man's.

I concur.
Really though, my grandmother and I talk about everything. I know things about that woman (and my now deceased grandfather) that I'm fairly certain she's never shared with anyone - she's way too old-woman Baptist to talk of such things. But, at the same time, I tell her everything - even the things I wasn't so proud to tell. If I've done it, she knows it, though I tend to spare her the details.
I have an awesome big brother. He sucked growing up, but he's been an incredible uncle and brother since I got married and had kids. It's awesome that you've sort of adopted one now!

I used to call my Mom, and I still miss the fact 8 years later that I cannot call her anymore. For a couple of years after she was gone I would still reach for the phone to call her.
I call on my daughter (who is almost 26), she is my best friend in the whole world and probably the most amazing woman I have ever known .

Ditto. and I mean DITTO! I lost my Mom on Nov. 10, 2004 and miss her with every fiber of my being. My daughter is is my world and she will be 26 in June.
You should of seen us a couple months ago, we went down to visit our mom and my mom and sister dragged us along to a line dancing seminar or what ever you want to call it. They had classes, and contests, etc... we went to a beginner class and gave up after 5 minutes. The rest of the day we were just obnoxious to the point we were asked to stop being obnoxious. At one point a couple of women came up to us and were hitting on us, we were so bad that they actually got mad at us.

That's how we are, we can talk to each other about things that we don't feel comfortable with talking to about other people.
