Dis jr. came home sick from school today, EARLY. So much for my half day to myself.... He threw up on his bus :bad: :bad: :bad: So the school called, told me that and that he had a slight fever. 99.3 So I go to pick him up. He seems ok to me but I took him home anyway. We spend some time at home and he says that he is hungry. not much to eat around here at the moment, well that is quick and easy to make and not real sugary or greasy. No bread to be found either. I have some errands to run anyway so we head out for lunch and errands. We had a nice lunch then completed the errands. On the way home he starts asking me about my favorite color. Blue. What "is" blue?  :unknw: So I go into a discussion about the Primary and secondary colors. "So God made Blue?" Oh the innocense of youth. So I do believe in God and have "my own views" on how everything works together as well as a healthy academic practical side. I think to myself... that is actually a good point to ponder but puts me in a spot where practicality, religion and physics are about to collide. So I start explaining about the eye and how our brain sees things and identifies colors. What it is that we are actually seeing when we see colors. (a light wave of a specific frequency) He is sitting there like he is actually understanding what it is that I am explaining. I think he was actually thinking "Oh NO!!! I've done it again.:80 Maybe if I just sit here and look at him and pretend to understand, he might just quit sometime soon". But in reality he really did get me to think about something I have never really considered. Did God create the rules of physics during creation or did he use something that was already in existance? Kind of like which came first? The chicken or the egg. I'd have to go with chicken on that. But seriously, for the believers out there, have you ever considered the physics question in regards to creation? Kinda makes me go :fool: 8P

Mr. Dis,
If you think about the intricate details in EVERYTHING in creation, you would think that God in his infinite wisdom knew about the physics part of it and created it in such a way that it would be astounding to think about!
I personally believe that God created the heavens and earth, but I know that there are other beliefs out there as well.

If God didn't create the rules of physics during creation, then who did? (I say that as a believer.) I love thinking about stuff like this, but at some point, my little right-brained mind gets overwhelmed and I have to just put it in the "Things To Ask God When I Get To Heaven" bin. (It's got a lot of stuff in it. :D )

Great discussion with the little feller, btw. He really does seem to lean heavily towards the creative side of things. I think this could be used effectively. I don't exactly know how, since I'm not a professional, but it really does stand out in all the things you describe about him.

you need to work on with on how colors feel ... that would help in your talks.

blue - icy, chilly, cold ....
red - hot, warmth, spicy
yellow - glowing, warm, eye opening
green - calm, serene, windy
..........

also you can add seasons as part of the creative color discussions ... such as red in summer is hot, but in fall it becomes crisp on leaves ...

fyi ... I think colors can help a lot with control of emotions if you understand some emotions seem tied to certain colors and the ability to focus. If I'm "red" (angry) and want to be calm ("blue), then I need to visualize where I need to be with a beautiful spring sky clear of clouds :) ....

Anything that helps him control his anger and to be able to express himself in a positive way is good. I was just being a little flipant with you, trying to keep a positive attitude and a humorous spin on things.

Great topic. One of my very favorite apologists and speakers is Ravi Zacharias. You'd probably enjoy watching him on YouTube(they have lots of segments on different topics such as this one). He takes the ignorant out of Christianity. I could listen to him for days. He lives in Atlanta, btw. When you have a few mins, see what you think. He has alot to say about Creationism, which came first, is God real, other religions, etc and is NOT preachy.

I have always said that God is a great mathmatician and scientist. Me personally, all I have to do to see this is look around me at the earth or even the human body.

I've done a little more thinking on this. It seems to me that gravity, for instance, is a product of the body in question. The bigger and more dense the body the higher the gravitational pull / attraction exerted by that body. So if that is the case and God created said body then that "rule" of physics was a consequence of his actions. Therefore it would seem that creation came before physics.:pardon: I'll go with that for now.
