Just ran across my second one in 3 days. That now equals the amount I have seen in 3 yrs here at our home. First was a 5 ft black snake and now today am Eastern King snake startled the crap out of me coming out of the flower bed. Just as long as they keep the copperheads, Rattlers and moccasins away, but keep a look out if you have small kids.

Snakes are awesome. They really are great at keeping other pests away.

yep, I saw a baby snake in my back yard the other day. I'm hoping he has already left the nest and there aren't a bunch of them somewhere close by. :o It was black with a yellow ring around it's neck. Not sure what kind that is. I assumed it was harmless.

today is tomorrow's yesterday.

One of our smaller king snakes was coiled up in the top of a privett bush about 3' off the ground recently.

And we have seen 2 of the BIG ones, 6-7 feet. One in the back courtyard basking in the sun on one of the decks, and 1 in the lattice panel above the upstairs deck. I think he was getting ready to shed so we left him alone. They like to weave in and out of the lattice to pull off last years skin. Can be startling when you walk out on the deck in the morning and see 2 or 3 skins hanging down from the rafters,

We have not seen a copperhead or rattler within 250 feet of the house since we chose to live peacefully with the king snakes 25 years ago.

We have a king snakes...one was on the hood of my car one day as I backed out of the garage...'bout scared me half to death! But I just stopped in the driveway and he slithered off into the woods. I love the good snakes.

I would have died of a stroke right then and there.

OMG I don't think I could live peacefully with any snakes. There would be no peace or rest for me!!!

Ironically, your little snake actually WAS a Yellow Ring Neck.

They look like baby snakes even when they are full grown. Harmless and they eat lots of insects.

If I ever see a snake in my home/yard/car/anywhere, all of Paulding County will hear me scream. The same applies for rats/mice, too.
