...and? Sure, he's still good lookin' but I wouldn't consider it breaking news. Yes, a milestone but not breaking news.

What? Has he paid up on his child support and alimony now?

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies… America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.Senator Barack Obama

We love the Braves, and go to a lot of games. Sadly, we found "Chipper" to be arrogant, surly, and mean. Went to see them play in Florida against the marlins-all the guys were signing autographs, but not Chipper. He told one little boy he "didn't have the time for that crap". I never liked him again. glad he's retiring. He wasn't that great at the end anyway

Can't remember the other players name, but he stopped as he was leaving ( tired kids in the back seat and all) came out to meet the kids and sign autographs, shake hands. That's what's it's all about. The kids were delerious with joy. He took time to talk to all of them. His family waited patiemntly in the car even though it was almost midnight. I hope they saw what a great man/dad they had. I'll think of the name soon and want to kick myself.

One the most over rated Braves since Dale Murphy.

Hw will make a good batting coach for the team. As far as him personally, I can't stand to hear him talk. He sounds like a dumb country bumpkin!!!

Amen, brother.

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

The wife is going to be heart broken. May have to get down there for a game this year so she can get one more look.

...and yeah, those hall of fame numbers make him really over rated.

One of the most under-appreciated Braves of all time. A shoo in first ballot HOFer.

I liked Chipper when he first started with the Braves as a kid, but as the years went on he became more and more arrogant and full of himself. He should have retired a few years ago when he became so injury-prone - I started calling him Bob Horner II (you young peeps will have to look him up).

As for Dale Murphy, he was a CLASS ACT and a bright spot in the Braves lineup when they had damn few bright spots. I got to meet him when I worked in the Sandy Springs driver's license office and he was far and away the nicest 'celebrity' I ever met there.

Hate to say it, but he might as well do it NOW. Just saw on ESPN that he is out a month due to surgery after tearing his miniscus in stretching before practice within the last couple days.

Bob Horner syndrome. He can't even take crap without getting hurt. When he does make it back, he will probably have a hang nail keep him out for another month. Then it will be the piles.
