One big thing I have learned about this board......most have different taste than I do. Heck I went to a bakery everyone was raving about and got a bunch of stuff....got home and tasted it and threw it all away. I know now to never ask about food on here.
Well just darn.....you didn't throw away something chocolate did you?
Thinking now the best course of action is to order a Papa John's pizza. And have

It's been so long since I had a Papa John's pizza I don't know what they taste like now. I bet I haven't had one in five years.
I was at a friends house about 20 years ago and they ordered Papa John's. They didn't have any taste either. Cardboard with catsup just about sums it up.
Buy American! We are all in this together so BUY AMERICAN!!!

I prefer Sal's. Don't get to Dallas much to eat, though. On the rare occasions I do go to Dallas to eat it's usually Ruby Tuesday or La Cocina and it's for business.

Since hubby woke up to extreme back pain this morning and is planning to take it easy, looks like we will just go out to eat lunch instead of going out this evening. And it looks like Chinese instead of steak.
We don't care as much about where we eat as long as we are together on our anniversary. For about 20 years, he was only home for maybe 2 of those anniversaries due to his job.
Happy Anniversary to my sweet hubby.

The back pain is one reason we don't make a lot of plans in advance. We never know when there will be a flare up. We will enjoy the day whatever we do, because we will be together.

My house. This past Saturday night. Sorry it's all gone.
Ruth's Chris never did it for me. I've been to them several times in several different locations. To me it's just another chain that is WAY over priced.
McKendricks by Perimeter mall. One the best "expensive" steakhouses.
Longhorn's. About 5 years ago before they were bought out by Darden Restaurant Group. They ruin every restaurant they buy.
Well, it was lunch at our favorite local Chinese restaurant. That's about all we felt up to doing. Now, sitting in the sun room, having a beer (him) and a margarita (me) and enjoying our day.

I have tried all the talked about steak houses around. We had our last anniversary steak at Aspens because I became acquainted with the man who raises the beef on grass that he sells to Aspens, Mckendricks, and so on and I wanted to try that.
We were not impressed with Aspens especially with the flavor of the meat. I've been to every place you can get a steak in Hiram and also that Steak House out in Rockmart.
To my palate, no one makes a better tasting steak than Texas Roadhouse right here in Hiram. We are regulars there and in the last 9 years they have only over cooked 3 steaks which is a good record.
Every time I try a steak someplace else I end up disappointed most of the time, for consistency of flavor there is no place around these parts that can beat Texas Roadhouse. Gumbeaux's in Douglasville by the RR tracks has a killer marinated/blackened steak that is my favorite but it's now $26.00 and they are not open on Monday.
I am a self professed steak, and Barbecue critic (fanatic) and the first thing I do when I move somewhere is find out where the best tasting of both are located by trying them all. Your mileage may vary...
Our house. Last night.
God Bless West Metro and Papi's grilling skills.
Yep - I bet Papi can grill a mean steak.
We bought steaks from West Metro last night. Hubby grilled the steaks and I prepared the side dishes which consisted of roasted asparagus, parmesan tomatoes, twice baked potatoes, with grilled pineapple as dessert. It was yummy - hubby did a fantastic job!
You know, I guess it is simply a matter of opinion when it comes to food. I have eaten at some very upscale locales as well as some "normal" ones. What I have learned after many years is that "upscale" doesn't necessarily mean "better." My opinion, of course.

Yep. McKendricks bone in ribeye looks like something from the Flintstones. Not bad, especially after a couple of their dirty martinis.
I have had a decent steak at Ruths. Had a better steak ay Bones. My favorite steak is the coffee rubbed ribeye I cook on the Egg.
Maybe poker's just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!
Congratulations on your anniversary! Would like to personally invite you to celebrate your special day with a couple of our delicious steaks . Rodney selects our rib eye steak loins, and hand cuts them in our restaurant. We grill them to your specification, and as they rest we put on a special garlic butter glaze.
Our steaks are fresh, and reasonably priced.
We hope you will consider us for your special meal.
Thanks

I would love to come try your steaks. Yum, yum.

Bones is my favorite but McKendricks near Perimeter Mall is really good too. But if you are concerned with prices better check an online menu first as a McKendricks dirty martini is $20.00!!!!
Hubby and I are kind of picky about where we go out to eat. We like to have something we can't have at home--an excellent steak, lobster, pasta with lots of garlic, excellent service, no clean up. We don't mind shelling out $60 for a good meal for the two of us. We don't drink alcohol while dining out as a general rule, so $60 for the food means we can get really pricey fare. But we're just as happy with $20 for the meal as long as the food is good and the service is good. We don't want to drive very far to eat, because generally when we go out to eat, we're hungry already. We will go as far as Dallas (we live between Austell and Powder Springs) or as far as Smyrna. Downtown Atlanta is out of the question. Over around Perimeter Mall won't even be considered. We hate Atlanta traffic.
Certainly not food snobs because we're just as happy in a small, hole-in-the-wall diner as a fancy smancy restaurant. Actually happier in a small, hole-in-the-wall diner.
For those who didn't read post #94, we ended up going to lunch to our favorite Chinese restaurant where the hot and sour soup is HOT, the pepper steak is incredible and the service is wonderful. All for UNDER $20. Hey, I'm a cheap date even on my anniversary. Had either of us not been in a good deal of pain with our arthritis that day, we might have gone out that evening. We decided to stick around home and go out for lunch. It wouldn't have bothered me if we had stayed home and had tuna salad sandwiches. We were together. There were many anniversaries that we were hundreds, if not thousands, of miles apart.
We're hoping that next year for anniversary #35 we can just hang around the house and then head down to The Fish House for an early dinner.

You've heard wrong, I was really disappointed in Aspen Steaks. For the price I was expecting Prime, but was informed it was Choice instead. For the amount of money I dropped on the meal I was expecting far far better. Longhorn did a better or equal job at only half the money. Unless it's Prime, I'm never dropping that kinda money for Steak again. Do some research and head towards Atlanta, I haven't ever had the opportunity to eat an aged Prime cut of beef and I don't believe it exsist anywhere around here. Proper sides are either creamed spinach or steamed asparagus that has been peeled and slathered in butter then eaten with your fingers...
Rockmart's Steakhouse is much better for the price. We were really disappointed in Aspen Steaks.
