Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

You must have graduated with my daughter. She did well at PCHS, and was accepted into the Governor's Honors in Spanish, the only person ever to go to Governor's Honors in a language.
I will send you a PM.

If they're using the old NCLB scores, a single under-performing demographic that makes up a fraction of the school population can bring the entire school down.

I absolutely did, and of course she got Governors Honors. She was a genius when it came to Spanish.
As for the solution to this, I do not think throwing money at it is the solution as much as paying attention to where the problem lies and finding what is working at East and North that is not working at PCHS. This school has too much heritage as a wonderful school with great students to go this direction.

Mr. Fincher was finally brought in to turn things around and hopefully in another year or two, PCHS can again excel both in the classroom and on the field, court, etc.

A larger percentage of parents and students who CARE about education.

When Mr. Fincher realizes he needs to micro manage the idiots that are his ass. principals and keep the students in class things will improve.
Giving OSS for tardies is idiotic. The teachers could use a little help too. The freshman Math teacher, God love her!

It won't matter how many overacheivers, unless how they report progress changes, a small group of a single demographic can still bring the whole school down.
BTW - does anyone else remember the weekly problems they had before Segars was brought in to restore dicipline - there were reports of large fights all the time. I wonder how Fincher is going to keep it from restarting.

GA has a waiver. The rules have changed so that one or two sub-groups should not sink the ship. Honestly, I don't know all of the details, to know if its a better system or just a different system. Its not based on one or two things like 1 test and attendance. There is a whole list of things that can earn points for a school.

Are you there for the day to day operations of the school? Assistant principals are qualified to handle their job. Why should the be micro managed. Supposedly that's what Segars did and people didn't like his leadership style either. Darned if you do, darned if you don't.

It has everything to do with the demographics. The biggest indicator of academic success is the education of the parents and the income of the parents.
