It has been a while since we have played this game but I am ready for it again.

1) What business would you like to see in Paulding?

2) What can Paulding do without?

I'll start.

I want:
A good New Bookstore
Boston Market
YMCA with an indoor and outdoor pool
Sonny's
A nice family place like a Zoo would be good.
A good industrial/manufacturing company to bring local jobs. Perhaps something like a Parts distribution center.
Drive-In Theater, the airport would be a good location for that.

What Paulding can do without:
The Airport
The sidewalk to nowhere
Another nail salon
Any more Mexican Restaurants
No more Tire Stores
Lower end Hotel/Motel If we build another one let's have a classy one.
ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.

I'd love a mini golf place!

That would be nice but it needs something to go with it.
I do not care for Stars and Strikes but I would like some kind of activity place similar to that here.
Maybe something like Malibu Grand Prix used to have in Kennesaw.

Indoor pool! (since a high school has a swim team now, and the county needs an indoor pool!)
more eating places in Dallas

No more antique stores please!

I agree with the pool.
A place with an indoor/outdoor one would be nice.

I like the way you think.
There could be a go-cart track that circles it as well.

West Pauling county could do with any delivery food place (the one's we have now are gross), of cores I kinda like my quite peaceful little area. Sure We have to drive 15+ min to closest store, but who really cares. It is so peaceful here.

WE need a water reservoir so we can start depending on our selves for water.

Even though I don't live there anymore, Paulding needs a Whole Foods/Harry's, and I want one closer to my side of Gwinnett.

I would love a Trader Joes and a Whole Foods. Right now, it takes me at least 50 minutes to get to the TJ in East Cobb. I'm addicted to their pot stickers and granola bars. I would also love to see more independent, non-chain restaurants. I went out to Little Five Points a few weeks ago, and it was so refreshing to see little cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, all on the same street. My dream is to have an Alon's here, like they have in Atlanta. www.alons.com

Arnis pizza(Will NEVER happen it is an Indiana institution, just a VERY big wish for all my fellow Hoosiers in the area)

Seriously though-
- A go-kart track (Speedzone etc) w/ batting cages/mini golf
- I am for a mall
- Jimmy Johns fresh sandwiches
- A delivery place besides Dominos who will deliver to Burnt Hickory (Cville Hwy) area
- I know folks want Paulding to be a bedroom community, but that has been thrown out the window with all the subdivisions going in. The ratio of businesses to subdivisions/residents/homes is so lopsided it doesn't take a genius to figure out. There needs to be some kind of economical developement b/c we are going to be able to depend on other counties for only so much longer for any kind of career oriented jobs or basic jobs in that matter. Cobb and Fulton companies are already turning down residents from other counties looking for work. Sorry, but I am for development up here on Cville Hwy and on 278 to Rockmart. I am seeing way to many hard working good people having to pack up their families and move b/c they feel they are going nowhere here.
Just please NO MORE Thrift Stores. Seems like there is one EVERY 100 yds

I see there was one on the northside of Indy and one in Greenwood which is where I lived before I moved out of state in '85.

Wing Stop
Smoothie King
private restaurants/cafes (aka not chain restaurants) with gourmet food
reasonably priced golf driving range up the road from my house
Costco
Portillo's (chicago peeps know what I'm talking about)
Popeye's

Don't want:
mexican restaurants
chain restaurants
tire stores
nail/tan salons
thrift shops

I agree with a local driving range
Year round county pool like the one in west Cobb
Grocery store within the city of Hiram (aldi does not count, and it need not be whole foods or trader Joe's)
More local restaurants (although I would gladly welcome a taco Mac)
a decent children's consignment shop like once upon a child
Gas station at the intersection of 278 and 120

What I don't want...
A new bookstore (we have a bookstore in old Hiram that can get you any book)
Thrown together thrift stores
Mexican restaurants

we do not need:

Dollar general stores
car lots
fast food restaurants
schools
banks
grocery stores
empty subdivisions (started and not finished)

we could use:

Red Lobster (preferable on east paulding drive) lol
miniature golf course something the whole family could enjoy
another public pool

Just out of curiosity, for those of you that are asking for a bookstore, have you ever been in the bookstore that's been in Hiram for almost 3 years? Is there something you don't like about it?

It is a nice little shop.
I just want one like Barnes and Noble where I can browse, drink coffee and unwind while skimming thru a new book.
