T-SPLOST would not fund studies - just the actual road projects. I looked again at the priority list and this project is no where to be found.

Ok, I have not looked at the actual list lately, the project was mentioned at a meeting.
It has been talked about. I actually brought it up because I could talk about something that would actually impact me because of where I live.
It is obvious that I am positive about growth in the area of economic development.
I will keep my ear to the ground to see if these makes the list rather than just being discussed.

This link might help...not only is it five pages of discussion on this topic from 2004, it also appears to have at least one post with links to multiple other discussions. I might be a good read for some of you.

No- I don't own a plane and never have, nor do any of my family members. My Dad had his pilot license at one time but that was years ago and his license is no longer active. Lord forbid that I ever get a pilot's license and own an airplane - would not be safe. :) I am not too "technical minded" and could never understand how to use the instruments.

I just had to ask :D

Let me say, for the silent majority, that a "bedroom community" is what initially caused the growth of the county. We came for the same reasons that the 100 year families came...it is (or was) a beautiful place to live without junky apartments and airports and industry/office parks - or jobs. We all had jobs close by. If the county had stuck with basic services such as Sheriff and Fire and a court system, the tax burden would not be bad. Throw in a movie studio and things of that nature (that gov't has absolutely no right to be involved in) and things get iffy. The rush for the 100 year families to zone their grandpa's farm industrial or otherwise to push the land value up so they could by an Escalade with big shinny rims is the reason we are all soon going to leave. And then you'll be stuck with the bill for the Taj Mahal complex, the airports, and the deserted industrial complexes that y'all are screaming for. On a positive note, I heard recently that the "rent to own" businesses are starting to offer big shinny rims and tires for "99 accords and similar cars...so you've got that going for you.

Yes, Paulding has the "rent to own" businesses just like COBB and every other metro Atlanta county. I really feel bad for you if all you have experienced in Paulding are the "rent to own" places as there is SO much more. As Access Paulding so eloquently describes it:

A vibrant community located in the Atlanta metro area, Paulding County is home to the Cities of Dallas and Hiram, with convenient access to Atlanta; Interstates 20 and 75; Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport; and much more!

Close enough to enjoy the many amenities of the metro Atlanta area, Paulding County is home to over 140,000 residents, with a "front porch down home" feel, with close proximity to the "big city."

With a variety of events and shows at the Dallas Theater & Civic Center; the Silver Comet Trail, 10 public parks for recreation, and local sports, to local, regional, and national restaurants, and entertainment, to a strong business community, we invite you to Work, Play, and Discover Paulding County, Dallas and Hiram!

Hey and WE in Paulding have a "theater on the square." :)
