How do I get information on becoming a substitute teacher for PCSD for the next school year? I am retiring from my present job in May and being being 55 years old I do not just want to stay at home.

I did not know that the Sheriffs Department needed subs.
If you are meaning the School Board you can go there in person and ask the procedure.
They are located near the Briar Patch Restaurant.

Good luck on the job and enjoy retirement.

Go with Riograce's link, it gives all of the info. I started subbing when my youngest started school. I wanted to work but wanted to be with my kids too. This was perfect for me, we were all on the same schedule. I liked elementary the best but try all levels to see where the best fit is for you. Good luck!
There but for the grace of God, go I.

Or s/he can just read the link I posted. ;)

BTW, a lot of people don't know what a certain government agency is called because it can vary from place to place. If I had a nickel for every time I've heard Georgia's driver's license division called the 'DMV,' I could have retired a lot earlier than I did. In fact, driver's licensing in GA has NEVER been in a Department of Motor Vehicles - it was part of the Department of Public Safety, then (briefly) it was the Department of Motor Vehicle Services, and now it's the Department of Driver Services.

Agreed.
I was attempting to be humoruous but failed.
ALTHOUGH, if the kids in question at EPHS do get detained I guess the Sheriffs Dept. will need teachers.
