Thank you!

PCS is a member here, and they do pressure washing at a reasonable rate. They are also liscensed and insured-something your want to be sure your contractor has before doing any work on your house. If anything happens to them while on your property, your insurance can be held responsible for the costs. Remember to get a contract describing the extent of the work to be done, so that there are no surprises at the end of the job.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that many companies who advertise that the will pressure wash for say $99. or so, actually only rinse the house. Yes, it gets off most of the dirt and mold you can see easily, but it leaves behind the mold spores and the mold will come right back when the weather gets warm. They should use a bleach solution or a siding wash 1st, let it sit for a while, and then wash with pressure. This will last much longer- up to a year or two. It depends a lot on how close you are to pine trees and other spoor producing foliage. The bleach also washes away grime and grease that holds the dirt that flies around in the air. Finally, acid rain also contributes to the problem, and causes staining of your gutters.

A good company will suggest cleaning out your gutters 1st so that when the house is washed, the dirt won't run out of them. They will throughly clean out the gutters and downspouts. Washing the roof is another good option-guess where most of the dirt in the air settles? then when it rains it runs down your house siding, getting everything dirty again. They should remove your screens to get at dirt trapped behind them, and to protect them from the high pressure as they clean the windows. You will want to make sure that the windows have a good "glazing" - especially if they are old - so tha the pressure doesn't push out the glass. The glazing - sometimes reffered to as pointing - is the clay like stuff that goes around each window pane and is the stuff that hold in the glass.

For anyone who is interested in a local company that has been here over 15 years, with lots of local references, liscense and insurance, please call 770-577-2409. This is a great time to get pressure washing done, and to get rid of last years leaves from your gutters. don't forget to ask about adding gutter screen if you have trees close to the house that clog up your gutters on a regular basis. It's not very expensive, and they should give you a great price since they are already up on a ladder doing the job. It cuts down on the labor price drastically!!T
