Butterfly, I've been to both Mt. Paran (main church off of I-75) back in the 80's and 90's when Dr. Paul Walker was the pastor. Absolutely the best church I've ever attended.

My children went to Mt. Paran Christian School off of Allgood in Marietta.

I've been to Trinity Chapel, when they first started off of Powder Springs Road on Pair Road. They then build their permanant location on Macland and I attended there. In fact, Mt. Paran supported them when they were first starting out.

They are both wonderful churches, heavy on worship music before the sermon.

They are both a Church of God so they do believe in gifts. They both are a mixture of people from all walks of life.

Mt. Paran had members that were some of the richest folks in Atlanta, but you would have never know that by the way you were greeted and treated.

Everyone is welcome.

And there is a program for anyone and everyone every day and night of the week.........just depending on your need.

Any "Church of God" should get you laying of hands, speaking in tongues, etc. If you want snakes, there's supposedly a good one down in Augusta. And if you want to get your gospel on, there's Shaw Temple. Lawd, they get up on a Sunday.

Trinity Chapel is definitely good if you just need an intro into the exceedingly devout houses of God. Bring your mumble...praise Jesus.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'm praying to find somewhere I can find encouragement and support. The churches where I have visited the people seem to have such full busy lives with close family members and different generations of relatives in the area that they spend time with. Since moving to Georgia I do not have that. I spend a lot of time isolated. I have chronic pain and fatigue and don't have thoughtful neighbors to talk to like I used to. I find it really difficult to connect to people since I moved to Paulding County. When I was 8 years old my family moved to a small town in Mississppi which was the area where my Dad grew up. His Mother and grown brothers and sisters lived there plus their children At age 40 my husband I moved to house just outside Memphis, then to a small apartment on Long Island for my husband to train for a new job in Atlanta. From there we moved to Douglas County and found a good church right off. Since moving to Paulding County I've often felt like I am wandering in the wilderness and I want to get to a better place.

Douglas County isn't that far away - did the church you like there change in some way so that you no longer want to attend?

Thank you for asking.

It would be about 18 miles one way.

The original pastor left though. He was encouraging, believed that healing is for today, etc. but things changed after he left.

I would appreciate any prayers for strength, wisdom, and guidance.

Turn Right onto Hwy 101.
Take Hwy 101 (approx 4 miles) to split in the road.

Proceed to 2nd road on Left which is Golden South Parkway.
Turn Right into Golden South Place.
End @ 53 Golden South Place


Direction from Dallas, Hiram, and surrounding areas

Take Hwy 278 North towards Rockmart.
It is approximately 8 miles from hwy 61 to Yorkville.

This is a great church.

I live in the southern most part of Paulding County. It's about the same distansce to shop in Paulding County or Douglasville. I would also consider chuches in Douglasville,. Some of the ones mentioned so far would be about 35+ miles round trip. I would like somewhere closer if I can find one.

I have had a few doctors who were originally from middle eastern countries. I did not ask them about their beliefs. One did tell me that his children did want a small dog but that he was raised not to keep pets in the house. I did not ask him about his spiritual beliefs. Later if I had felt the need I would have asked but I didn't see the need at that time. However, if I ever choose a doctor that has the same beliefs there is nothing wrong with that.

When I had surgery at Emory I had people praying for me---some happened to be Jewish.
