Is anyone else having issues with their children being sick at Russom? What in the world is going on there? My son and daughter both have been having severe miagraines and breathing problems. Oddly, they don't seem to be happening outside of school. I'm aware of both of the classrooms having dehumidifiers. How extreme is the moisture and what is it causing?? Signed, Very Concerned Momma

It sounds like it might be mold. I work at a preschool and when they built on to the church, the lower level where we were moved had a lot of moisture in the air. Artwork would fall off of the walls overnight because the tape would get damp. We kept dehumidifiers on for a good year. I remember some of the ladies who came in over the summer complaining about headaches and things like that while they were in the building. We had bookshelves that had mold all over the back of them. They finally got it fixed. I'm not sure how, but we don't run the dehumidifiers anymore and it stays dry.

Mold in a large school can be a nightmare to take care of, but I fear you might be right. To me the school has always had an odd smell in the classrooms. I hate having my kiddos sick all of the time. Fingers crossed that the dehumidifers work.
