Don Brown, Jr. announces for Hiram Mayor

Don Brown, Jr., a Hiram insurance man and former councilmember, threw his hat in the ring to become the first announced candidate for Hiram Mayor. Brown served on the council when Mayor Dewey Pendley was in office and was the sponsor of the city's application as a city of Ethics program under the Georgia Municipal Association in 2005.

Indeed, Brown said his campaign will emphasize ethics and that was his proudest achievement while on the council.

The election is set for March 6. Qualifying for the Hiram Mayors race ends Wednesday at noon. When Jack Paris, who resigned from the office earlier this month, ran for the seat in November, he was unopposed.
