Thank you. That's too bad. I wonder how long the one at Brownsville and 92 will last. They don't seem to ever be real busy.

When? I thought they were doing a pretty good business.

I don't have any trouble getting in or out of there.

They're prices are high. I just stop in to pick up something I might have forgotten or get a gallon of milk.

That is sad for the folks who work there, but I have never liked that store. A friend of mine loves the one on 92 @ Brownsville Rd. but the one on 61 has always seemed dark and kinda dirty. JMO

The one at 61 and Hiram Sudie? Do they have signs up or is there an indication as to when it will close? I hate to hear that because it is very convenient to stop in there on the way home.... Or to run to real quick when you realize you need something.....

Yep, 30 days.. Its sad that the mega stores are knocking some of the competition out of our markets. I hate it as its just ANOTHER CASUALTY of our horrible Economy and our inability to bring manufacturing jobs into the county. We financially cant support many business' as we are struggling here as well as other places. I really hope we elect new Leaders in Washington and start replacing those that are not fighting for more business here locally. We NEED BUSINESS HERE in paulding. Unfortunately we always "poo poo" any ideas that may be progressive.

Wow. They just started building a Family Dollar there.

I am sure the Family Dollar chose that location because due to having Food Lion as an anchor.

I do not think that a discount store like that (FD) can make it without an anchor store.

Food Lion also has a great little organic foods section. I was so surprised the first time I shopped there. My one disappointment was the meat section. Not because there was anything wrong.............with all the other organic foods, I expected them to have beef without hormones/antibiotics, but they didn't.

Probably not much way of stopping the closing if all of them are being shut down. Sad. :(

I hate to hear it. I like their meat and produce section. I tried to go there as much as I could and was happy to have it there for quickly needed items.

Their prices was higher. The only time I shopped there was triple coupons. DBF will be heart broken... He stopped there on the way home. Pfft I've told him just to drive right past the house to Publix.

I am going to absolutely hate it. I was in there 2-3 times a week to pick up things since it was so convenient to the house and it wans't a hassle to get in and out but it was never busy like the Kroger. From what I understand, grocery stores have very low margins and make there money on volume. Sad for the people working there... I just wonder if they expanded too fast.. that gets a lot of companies.

Sorry to hear this. Although I didn't use them as my primary store, they did carry a few items no one else did.

That's crazy, the Marietta store was a newly constructed store, not a renovated Winn Dixie.

I'm sorry but I'm not surprised.

I tried that store 3 times and after the last failed attempt, vowed never to darken their door again.

Their check out is atrocious. I was having a big ice cream craving one night, so just ran in there for 2 half gallons. I stood in 2 different lines which moved at a snail's pace. Finally I went to the service desk, dropped off the now melted ice cream and informed the manager as to why I was leaving without them.

I wanted to get rice pudding for my husband who was recovering from a bad bought of tummy trouble. Figured store brand would be ok. NOT -- I took one taste and nearly barfed. It tasted like the plastic tub container. I returned them to the manager. When he asked the reason for the return, I explained politely but firmly. His answer: "Oh well" and gave me the cold shoulder as he refunded my money.

Last chance was me truly desperate: I HAD to have milk and eggs for a recipe. Same issues with check out.. stood there, stood there, stood there. Changed lines. Stood there some more. I did buy them but that was the last straw.

It's why I shop at Ingle's.... lovely store, wide aisles, great check out (my choice for full or self service), good prices.

Didn't go there very much.

I hope that this will improve the number of folks who go to the Ingles at Nebo & Dallas Nebo Rds. Those that know about it go out of the way to get there, but it's not on well-travelled roads.

It's much nicer tan all of the other Inges.

For those interested, I have it on good authority that all items are being marked down for a quick sale.
The comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

I do like the food lion brand ice cream flavors.

An annoying thing i noticed with that particular store was the pole that was right in the middle of one of the aisles

Just yesterday I was in the Food Lion looking at their clearance and decided 1.29 for a 5 ounce can of pork brains in milk gravy was too high, if its marked down some more I just might bite. Lol!-- I'm not kidding about the brains either lower shelf of clearance cart in the pharmacy area facing the dairy wall.

I just came by there.

Clearance will begin January 18th @ 25% and the store will shut down by February 15th.

It's really sad for those folks.

A deeper clearance will probably occur as it gets closer to closing time.

That's what I said to myself today.....

Now I have to go to Publix. Crap! (Except they have the best produce)

Its farther for me and now I have to go thru a STOP sign. LOL

I don't grocery shop at either one, just use it as a quick run through. Publix is higher than Food Lion.

I buy groceries and everything else at WALMART because they're the cheapest.
