When Kuss was the principal, he did an extensive search for the best person for the job. He chose a committee that did the elimination process and then the interviews. Reid was their first choice and he took the job.

Maybe Viness can learn from this and do the same procedure.

Rumor has it that the principal wants to hire his buddy instead of a very qualified coach that is from Paulding County.

IT would be a shame if hiring a buddy is more important than the most qualified applicant.

Lived here all my life, and am a PC graduate. I would like to know who the coach is from PC with a winning resume ready to step into the head of such a program. I hope they get the best guy out there, and sad to say they probably have MANY great resume from winning coaches NOT from Paulding.

I think they are talking about Jon Lindsey he is the head coach at Irwin County but graduated from PC.

His buddy is Chuck Goddard from Walton, he's the Defensive Coordinator there.

Interviews start this week. Lindsey and Goddard look to be the frontrunners.

I can tell you that Walton finished 2nd in the state at 14-1, and their defense was very impressive. Might be a great hire, buddy or not!

Goddard was terrible as head coach at Wheeler and Cass before Walton.

i would like to see linsey here at East. He is very Qualified for the job. He served as DC at Camden County under herron and knows how to run a program. I hope that Goddard is not the coach... he is better served as a DC NOT a head coach. im affraid he will set this program back. I know that he and viness are 'buddies', but i hope viness will consider the program and the kids and not setting up his 'buddy' for retirement!!! Coach Linsey will lead this program in the right way and being a local product he will be here for a while... he truely care about the kids and will make sure that everything is in the best interest of the kids... hope the right decision is made for the betterment of the program. The Raiders are on the right road to bring hope a championship... not to mention the talent is VERY rich all the way down to the jr program.

We need someone to take the boys where Reid couldn't. I do not mean any disrespect to him at all. He is a great Coach and I think the world of him, Coach Bragg and Stready too. The boys need a great leader, they are the ones who take the field and get the job done. Any old coach won't do, especially someone's buddy. I like the idea of Lindsey coming in, I've heard great things about him and he may be just the guy we need. One things for sure it's time right now to start working on this coming season, I hope this is settled soon and we end up with a great coach and a bigger, better program.

Go Raiders!! :clapping:

Hopefully the school board members realize that we parents are also voters.

Please do not let the buddy system influence the coaching choice.

i know Jones didnt have to many winning seasons at Kenn Mtn. but he will have the boys competing up there... good person as well... good luck to North

he did take over a new program as well that didnt have to much talent in a region that has powers such as McEachern, Marietta, and other Cobb schools that had good seasons in between...

NICE POST!!!!!

not to mention that a local product can come home and STAY home... I feel he would be here for many years and retire here... he will have added pressure to do well and he handles pressure well... what he did at Camden County as their DC was top notch... learning from Herron is only a plus... he will take the Raiders to the next level and it would be nice to see a local product do that... sorry just my 2 cents...

GO RAIDERS!!!
