Is he the head coach? If so I am sorry you are sad, but i think your program will be better off in the long run. Way too much talent there for the results they have gotten on the field. Seems like a nice guy, so I know it is hard. However, sometimes a program needs new direction.

I'm torn on this. I think that he brought a lot of respect for the game, valued sportsmanship greatly, and had earned a ton of respect from his players. As a parent of a football player, it's tough to see a positive influence like Coach Webb leave.

On the other hand, just as a spectator with a pretty good understanding of the game, this team appeared to be poorly coached. While I don't think the talent was there to do much damage this year, there was more talent than finishing with a 4-6 record. The defensive scheming was an absolute joke, as was the way the db's were coached to not look for the ball. Tackling was miserable. Special teams atrocious. The offense unimaginative. There's a whole lot of room for improvement and much of that does, in fact, start with coaching.

If memory serves me correctly, there was a new AD at North this year. Though Coach Webb told the players this was his decision, I can't help but wonder if there wasn't some irreconcilable differences between Coach Webb and the new AD.

I was reading today where GHSA voted to expand to 6 classifications and that North Paulding would be playing in level 6.

I wonder if any of the local coaches will be applying for this job?

That offense they ran required too much time at practice and not enough time for any other aspect of the game.

I am sure when everything settles down the fans at NPHS will glad the changes was made.

Coach Webb is an outstanding man. It was those that he decided to surround himself with was his undoing.

If you believe coaching chatter, he could have fired his assistants or resign.

And, you are onto something with the new AD. Don't think that this will be the last coach resigning from there. Changes are afoot at North.

There is no reward for a nice coach with a losing record. I saw them play when my team East paulding played them on there home field. I saw a team that could have a winning season. The coach is sooo important those guys are a new school it takes time to develop a good football program. I wish them luck and looking forward to years to come.

He did not move up to Mcclure. He actually had resigned from Paulding County Schools and got rehired doing the same job. When middle school sports were cut he became part of the NPHS coaching staff.

He did move to McClure--my kid played for him there--then he moved to North. He is my favorite football coach that youngest kid played for.

All kinds of rumors are flying including that Coach Reid from East applied for the job. A player that came back to class from the meeting where the coach told them he was resigning told everyone that the new coach is coming from Camden county, so I don't know...

No Norths athletic director went to PCHS. He came from either South or Hiram, I forget which.

It would be nice if it was Reid, but I don't see that happening, at all. That was one of those rumors that came from a supposedly really reliable source that he had applied.

The DC at Camden County is from Paulding County and a great person and an even better coach... I just dont know if he would leave CC... He has had several opps in the past to take head coahing jobs but CC really treats all of their coaches and families very well... Not saying the NPHS would not treat him well... that is a monster program down there and they eat, sllep, and breath wildcat football... If they could land him it would be great for the program and the county... Good luck in the search for a new coach, and i hope North ends up with a good coach no matter who it is...

If you are talking about John Lindsey he is a great guy. I dont think he is still at CC though, at least he isnt listed as one of the coaches. I know he applied for the NP job when the school opened, so hopefully he would get a shot. At least beingpart of the CC success he does know what it will take to win!

Just dont see Reid moving to a job with in the same county and region. Why would he? Look at the EP feeder programs. East should continue to dominate the county for many years to come. Why would you leave what could be a future championship to rebuild again. He isnt a spring chicken anymore..lol. I would see him moving only to a powerhouse program or to a large 6 a school. But who knows??

BTW....GO RAIDERS TONIGHT!!!!!

You are correct...he is the head coach at Irwan County... He took over a team that was struggling and is just starting to turn the corner... Would be nice to have a local guy come back to coach...

OH and by the way i AGREE WITH YOU... GO RAIDERS!!!

Greg Cherry is the AD at North now, things will get better under him. He will put the right coaches in place to get the job done.

As for Reid applying for North, no way that happened. He's only leaving East for a bigger Cobb/Gwinnett job or a big South GA job.

Seeing what NPHS has done in football since its inception, is the reason Coach Webb is gone. To not write a novel on my reasoning for saying what I did, I will just say this was the only way to go to improve football at NPHS. The rest of the football coaching staff should follow his lead and step aside. Let us get a new start under a new head coach and staff. I have 1 son play for Webb from his freshman year to his senior year. I have 2 more sons that will be coming up thru this system and I for one am looking forward to a new start, a better start for this program. We have the athletes at North to be as good if not better than East, we just need the coaching that will get that ability out of them. Which we didnt have for the last 5 years. Now hopefully we will.

.Look just move to the East paulding area and have your kid be a Raider. Theres two types of people those that want to be Raiders and those that are. I don't see North doing well for another 3-5 years if then, those rednecks are more interested in hunting.

Better than East? Now that is funny! Why? Because I can't believe you are getting caught up in the hoopla. Why is it so important to be better than East? Kell? Pope? Or any high school for that matter. It's a game, the kids enjoy it, the parents enjoy it. It's a sport, one, the boys work hard at, one, they end up being proud of, they become a family. Sure some take it to the next level and sh*t, shower and shave the sport but there is one thing you and others are forgetting. But first, I want to know why it's always the coaches fault or this player or that player. To much pressure on a kid to play a sport ends up not being fun.

With that said, one of the things that most people have to remember is.......They GRADUATE!!!!! From what I've seen, these boys will be playing since they can walk. They are in the same age group, they go to school together, on the teams together, become senior together (and that is where you get your kickass team) and then they GRADUATE together, therefore the coach has to start all over again with new boys that join the team. And what I mean all over again, is mold them the way he wants them to be. The coach might have a bad year or two then come back with a bang.

Take wrestling for instance. The past 2 years we had great wrestlers (we still do) and they graduated, now we have a few left (which are seniors now) and all the rest are new wrestlers. When these boys GRADUATE this year, the coach will have to start all over next year with the new wrestlers. He has to build the team all over again, work hard with the boys and get those good wrestlers out there. This goes with football.

Oh and for the record, the kids that go to North are the kids from EAST. All of a sudden, these kids don't like East???? Unreal. East was unstoppable before the new high school went up. If the kids were to be combined, they would be unstoppable again.

Look North has the ability to have a winning season, there still new and will take awhile. The kids that went to North who were East are long gone now each school is on there own. Face the facts East is a very superior school. There talent runs deep, there farm leagues alone would beat most High Schools. One of there teams are headed to state play offs. Now East had it's dark years of losing records, they took there lumps. Now the Beast from the East has arrived and will be here for quite awhile.

The Raiders are a lethal force, deal with it :angry2:

Interviews should start soon and continue into January with a decision sometime by the end of January. Apparently a lot of applicants have applied.

The decision has been made, an offer was extended and we now have a new Football Coach for North Paulding. It should be announced next week sometime.
