On the other hand, just as a spectator with a pretty good understanding of the game, this team appeared to be poorly coached. While I don't think the talent was there to do much damage this year, there was more talent than finishing with a 4-6 record. The defensive scheming was an absolute joke, as was the way the db's were coached to not look for the ball. Tackling was miserable. Special teams atrocious. The offense unimaginative. There's a whole lot of room for improvement and much of that does, in fact, start with coaching.
If memory serves me correctly, there was a new AD at North this year. Though Coach Webb told the players this was his decision, I can't help but wonder if there wasn't some irreconcilable differences between Coach Webb and the new AD.

Paulding County...proudly the 19th most conservative county in the entire
country. This means that I'm not a liberal; it means you're an extremist.

That offense they ran required too much time at practice and not enough time for any other aspect of the game.
I am sure when everything settles down the fans at NPHS will glad the changes was made.

If you believe coaching chatter, he could have fired his assistants or resign.
And, you are onto something with the new AD. Don't think that this will be the last coach resigning from there. Changes are afoot at North.

He did not move up to Mcclure. He actually had resigned from Paulding County Schools and got rehired doing the same job. When middle school sports were cut he became part of the NPHS coaching staff.

He did move to McClure--my kid played for him there--then he moved to North. He is my favorite football coach that youngest kid played for.

No Norths athletic director went to PCHS. He came from either South or Hiram, I forget which.

It would be nice if it was Reid, but I don't see that happening, at all. That was one of those rumors that came from a supposedly really reliable source that he had applied.

Just dont see Reid moving to a job with in the same county and region. Why would he? Look at the EP feeder programs. East should continue to dominate the county for many years to come. Why would you leave what could be a future championship to rebuild again. He isnt a spring chicken anymore..lol. I would see him moving only to a powerhouse program or to a large 6 a school. But who knows??
BTW....GO RAIDERS TONIGHT!!!!!

You are correct...he is the head coach at Irwan County... He took over a team that was struggling and is just starting to turn the corner... Would be nice to have a local guy come back to coach...
OH and by the way i AGREE WITH YOU... GO RAIDERS!!!

Greg Cherry is the AD at North now, things will get better under him. He will put the right coaches in place to get the job done.
As for Reid applying for North, no way that happened. He's only leaving East for a bigger Cobb/Gwinnett job or a big South GA job.

.Look just move to the East paulding area and have your kid be a Raider. Theres two types of people those that want to be Raiders and those that are. I don't see North doing well for another 3-5 years if then, those rednecks are more interested in hunting.

Better than East? Now that is funny! Why? Because I can't believe you are getting caught up in the hoopla. Why is it so important to be better than East? Kell? Pope? Or any high school for that matter. It's a game, the kids enjoy it, the parents enjoy it. It's a sport, one, the boys work hard at, one, they end up being proud of, they become a family. Sure some take it to the next level and sh*t, shower and shave the sport but there is one thing you and others are forgetting. But first, I want to know why it's always the coaches fault or this player or that player. To much pressure on a kid to play a sport ends up not being fun.
With that said, one of the things that most people have to remember is.......They GRADUATE!!!!! From what I've seen, these boys will be playing since they can walk. They are in the same age group, they go to school together, on the teams together, become senior together (and that is where you get your kickass team) and then they GRADUATE together, therefore the coach has to start all over again with new boys that join the team. And what I mean all over again, is mold them the way he wants them to be. The coach might have a bad year or two then come back with a bang.
Take wrestling for instance. The past 2 years we had great wrestlers (we still do) and they graduated, now we have a few left (which are seniors now) and all the rest are new wrestlers. When these boys GRADUATE this year, the coach will have to start all over next year with the new wrestlers. He has to build the team all over again, work hard with the boys and get those good wrestlers out there. This goes with football.
Oh and for the record, the kids that go to North are the kids from EAST. All of a sudden, these kids don't like East???? Unreal. East was unstoppable before the new high school went up. If the kids were to be combined, they would be unstoppable again.
