Parents I wanted to bring it to your attention. That there is another option from sending your kid to overcrowded schools to more of a one on one environment to where you feel like your tax dollars are helping YOUR child. Even though I still hold the view that it is not my responsibility to educate everyone elses child, I do understand that unfortunately the government has the hold on us all by taking or hard working dollars at will and through political scare trickery that make it impossible to think that we will ever see a day in my lifetime wherre people actually take responsibilty and pay for thier own child. I wonder how much responsibility people would take if they had to write a check out each month to the school system and see how much it cost and would demand lower costs if they had to pull the check book out of the pockets and hand write it. It is amazing how much we pay attention when we write it instead of having taken out before we see it from escrow (property taxes) or sales tax, Just my opinion.

Anyways, check out www.k12.com. We have six children and all of them do this program. It is one on one with my wife and my children have learned more in one year then they did in 3 years in public school building. Yes, it does take some sacrificing on the parents part, but just think if you had to write a check out each month for your child to go to school, I bet there would be some sacrifices made. Just a thought.

Anyways, check it out and take a look. There are now 250 kids in the Paulding/Villa Rica area on this program and its paid with the tax dollars they take from you anyways. Even though I would pay for it my self considering what my kid has learned about our founding fathers, history, etc compared to public school buildings where they dont allow it becuase they are afraid they will offend someone. My kids are done at lunch every day and in the spare time my older ones are learning how to be a responsible citizen and work more hours to learn how to suceed in life. They will be done in April.

What would you sacrifice to give your children what we had at one time and that is a sound education with out all the extra politically correct stuff that brainwashes them anyways. It is not like it was when we were young and you all know that.

Just thought I would throw that out there.

One more thing, if you all get a chance, pick a copy of the book called, "FROM CRAYONS TO CONDOMS" It is all factual and based on true school policies that are documented at your schools, oh yes, as you read it you will say as I did, "my kid has talked about that". It will scare the H--- out of you. God help this country is my prayer.

God Bless you all.

Take care everyone.

I think it important to know that this is a public school and tuition is paid by the state of Georgia. Thanks mountainman44 for bringing this resource, free for all students k-10th grade this year ... I think it is going to be offered to 11th and 12th graders next year (I saw something to that effect on the site.)

The school I believe is called Georgia Cyber Academy and in addition to the tuition for the online course - in earlier grades only about 30 percent of the time being home schooled is on the computer - the resource offers books, etc.

K12 is an amazing program. I used it with both of my children long before it became Georgia Virtual. I paid quite a bit of money out-of-pocket for the program and NEVER regretted it. I love K12!

I have heard decent things about this program.

If it works for you and your family, go for it.

I've had some bad experiences with homeschooling (parents getting pissed at the school----usually because of their kid's behavior----and homeschooling for a few months only to send them back missing giant chucks of info-------you have no idea how frequently this happens!).

Thank you. I will research this tomorrow.

Do you know if there is still time to enroll?

My plans are to start my son with virtual school next month. The one I have chosen costs $125 monthly. Free would really appeal to me.

My family is doing the Connections Academy program. It is free of charge. Plus they send a box of nearly all the supplies you need throughout the year. You can enroll anytime. We just started and my 1st grader and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the program!!! We go on field trips and they have clubs and activities. He is going to be involved in soccer this year and that counts toward his PE class. It is extremely flexable. If you want more info on it or have any questions I would be glad to answer them just PM me.
