Just curious if anyone is going to try to win Chick-fil-a for a year? I believe you have to be at the new Dallas location on the morning of the 13th and stay all day and night. I might would do it if I had a sitter.

Does this mean that this location will be open for business Wednesday?

Tempting, but I don't think I'd want to stand around outside in this near 100 degree heat all dang day, and I have too much to do this week.

BTW, Offical Chick-Fil'A PDF file with "First 100" rules <-- Clicky Link.

Official open date is Thursday July 14th, 2011 for the Dallas location. You have to show up the day before for the First 100 deal.

I can't believe that everyone would be required to stay OUTSIDE in this heat for this! Wednesday our temp is supposed to hit 95 degrees with a heat index value as high as 110!

National Weather Service forecast for Dallas, Ga

I'll be there in the parking lot with 12oz bottles of water for $5.

:ninja: Hope to see all you guys there.

Subby might be able to do it, because he already does stay out in the heat all day (with his 2 frozen gallons of water of course!).

I think they sometimes let them come in during the over night part. I am not sure how they will handle the heat. I would doubt the owner would risk people having heat strokes.

HE@$ NO!!! I was out doing errands in Hiram Friday and wanted to go to Chick fil A and they were unbeknownst to me having cow day. We got the last parking spot and went in, saw there were no seats and left. This was about 12:30. We hit one more store in Dallas and came back around 1:15, still no seating available and ended up going thru the drive thru. ARGH!!! After going to 4 stores we still didn't find what we were looking for-- a Dinoco Blue Lightning McQueen.. Not a fun day!

Here's the beautiful thing: no one is *required* to participate. If it's too hot for ya, don't go. I can assure you *I* won't be there.

I just asked a friend that is opening the store where the participants will have to wait during the day. I am waiting on his reply.

Oh, I definitely will not be there. I have central air, with ceiling fans AND a portable, rolling type of AC in my bedroom because I can't stand the heat. Being outdoors in this kind of heat has me dizzy within about 20 minutes, without exertion. I was referring to the safety concerns of others who will be there. The rules in the link that was posted in this thread states that participants must dress appropriately for the weather. That implys the event will be held outdoors.
"Participants, Alternates and Guests must remain in their designated spot on the premises until the Grand Opening of the Restaurant. (Exceptions are made for short restroom breaks and/or to comply with any applicable legal requirement.)

Participants, Alternates and Guests must dress appropriately for changing weather conditions."

I'm so pale...I'd be a lobster after that. I'd have to bathe in sunscreen.

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies… America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.Senator Barack Obama

I know what you mean. Our central air is not working and someone gave us two window units. With ceiling fans and other fans it is still 80 in the house. I just feel horrible in this heat. There is no way I would be outside any more than I had to.
