In the girl's semi-final, EPMS defeated Jones 5-0. EP looked as good has they have all year, while Jones did not play well nor up to their potential. Congratulations to Jones on the improvements that they made since the beginning of the year. EP continues to impress me every time that I see them play.

In the second game, South Paulding Boy's team jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second half over EPMS and held on to win 2-1 in the surprise of the tournament so far. The game was very exciting due to a large and vocal turnout for SP. Definitely the best middle school game this year.

Each of today's winners plays for the championship on Saturday at Jones. Good luck to each school. I won’t be able to make the championship games so I hope someone gives us a full report.

<edited to add further notes and clarification>

Tonight the second Boy's semi-final bracket, Moses takes on Dobbins while in the girl's game, South Paulding meets Moses. The winner of each of these games plays for the championship on Saturday.

Was the second game the Boys game or another girls game? Our WMSC U-13 team has several boys on the Middle school teams.

The Boys game was a surprise. I would not say a total shocker because South has played better and better as the season progressed.

Congrats to South boys and East Girls.

On Friday, both Moses teams play Dobbins in a match of #2 seed vs #3 seed. Winners of theses games advance to Championship Saturday.

Actually, the Moses girls play the South Paulding girls. The Dobbins girls were eliminated in the first round by the girls from Herschel Jones.

The second game was the boys semi. Sorry I didn't make it clear in my post.

Thanks for the compliment to EPMS girls. My daughter plays on that team.
Thanks for the info. too. I was shocked to find out the EPMS boys lost. I just assumed it would be both our boys and girls in the championship game. Wished I'd hung around to watch the boys game now.

Way to go EPMS ladies!!

I was sad to hear the EPMS boys lost. They've had a great season. We left at half time in the boys game. The first half was really a battle. I think SPMS boys
wanted the win so bad, they played their best and got it.
Sometimes it comes down to how bad a team wants the win.

We're going to the SPMS and Moses Girls game tonight. My daughter has several friends on SPMS.

Got to see who we'll play on Saturday morning!

Good luck to all the teams!!

That just goes to show you that not only is it hard to beat a good team three times but ANYTHING can happen come tournament time.

Just to clarify : Tonight (Fri 5-6) 2nd and 3rd place teams play to determine who will play against EPMS girls and SPMS boys in the finals tomorrow beginning at
10am. Girls will play first, followed by the boys game.

tonight:
SPMS girls VS Moses girls (girls play 2nd game should start around 6)

I'm not sure which boys teams will be playing.

I cleared up my first post - in the boy's game Moses takes on Dobbins. Winner meets South Paulding in the morning.

Dobbins boys beat Moses 3-0.

Moses girls beat S Paulding 4-1. (I think I'm remembering the scores right.)

Girls championship game tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.; boys will follow.

Good luck to all; they'll be some good games, that's for sure!

Thank's for the update and link. The Dobbins win is a surprise to me.

Should be good games today. Wish I could make them.

Good luck to all - I'm on my to the soccer field for the day....

EPMS Girls beat Moses 1-0...it was a GREAT game. They are both terrific teams!

I don't know who won the boys game; we had to high-tail it over to a softball game immediately after the girls finished playing.
