I have a question, not really a vent. My son has not missed a day of school since 3rd grade and he looks forward to getting his award for perfect attendance each year. However this year, he did not receive one, because he said they only chose 20 students to get the award. Huh? How can they do that? You cant just choose certain people to get an award if you met all the requirements. He was there everyday, no tardies, no early checkouts. I don't get it.

Have you spoken with the school, or did you just choose to come on here and stir things up, based on the account of a third grader?

SPHS makes me think he's beyond 3rd grade.

Perfect attendance from 3rd grade to HS is a HUGE accompishment and he should be honored for it.

Thank you, he loves going to school and he loves SPHS and so do I. He would have had all A/B honor roll but has a 79 in Biology. I hate that, but I guess it could be worse. But hopefully the EOCT will get that up before the semester is over.

Who told him that? How does he know he is not getting an award? Did he have tardies that counted against him or early check outs/late check ins? I was invited to the award ceremony, but my gf told me it is Monday. Did I miss it and she is going to be mad a me?

Awards day for 9th graders was yesterday. No he did not have any tardies, late check ins, early check outs. I will have to call on Monday to find out what happened. Maybe they didnt have time to give them all out and will give out certificates later.

I wonder why they are separate? Glad I didn't miss the one I was invited to and calling Monday sounds like a good idea! Let us know. :)

I check the parent portal daily, and last progress report he got has no absences, no tardies, no early check outs. But I will be checking on it Monday, I know it's not a big deal to alot of people. And he still insists they were told they were only giving out 20 awards

Or maybe they just made an error and his name was left off. I would try calling the school and getting the facts first.
I have not heard of them giving out only 20. I can't imagine the freshman class having that many more who didn't miss a day all year.

You do know that SPHS isn't third grade, right? Or maybe it was high school for you......
I don't believe anything someone else has written, or said. I don't even believe everything I see if there is any possibility that an allusion could exist.
