Read in this weeks Dallas New Era where Olive Garden is asking for a variance on a piece of land on NW corner of 278 and Greenfield

Rumor was out about a year ago that they were going in the same parking lot as Jim N Nicks.
I hope so.

Pretty sure it's coming, but their buildings are different that what Paulding County allows. They have to work hard to get the fascia in the material they want, our not so smart building authority has all but banned them from building on Business 6 or 278. We'll see how it all works out, they backed out before because of our antiquated building restrictions.

Wonder if our commissioner will ever get back to me on that??

Where Johnny Carinos was????

Just realized that isn't the NW corner. That would be over around Jim n Nicks. Hmmmmmmm. Just what they need a FIFTH restaurant in that parking lot.

Nope, it's totally new construction. Not a renovation or retrofit. :)

Could be good for the county and for some jobs. Looking at Google maps I see a corner on that location that is all trees so maybe that is where they want to go. Sometimes Google maps isn't up to date so that corner may have changed by now.

I personally am not likely to ever eat at Olive Garden. The last time we went (2010) it was almost $100 for our family of 6 to eat on a Sunday with no appetizers, alchohol, or desserts. We had gift cards and that is why we went there. It was nice but not THAT nice in my opinion.

Well...we thought the OG was going up over near the chicken wing place. What's going there then?

It could be a restaurant serving dog food for all I care, as long as it's not another mexican restaurant.

I love their salads. It's always cold and fresh. I could eat salad and bread there and nothing else. I would welcome it.

Olive Garden and Red Lobster are owned by the same company and they decided on a Olive Garden. It is going across Greenfield Road from the shell station. They are clearing that corner off so not directly in the existing parking lot of Jim and Nicks but actually more towards the intersection of Greenfield and 278.

Too bad it's not a Mexican restaurant.
Lord knows we could use another one in Hiram.

That's because Red Lobster doesn't serve catfish - so it would never make it in Paulding.

I like Olive Tree and Olive Garden both.

They both have their own unique taste.

They will bring tax dollars in from Cobb county.

I am very excited to hear they will be spending $ here building a new Olive Garden.

Welcome to Paulding County Olive Garden.

Yay! Love Olive Garden!! Never tried Olive Tree....well I did try to try it one night but the customer service wasn't there so we ended up leaving before we were seated. Still traumatized from it so we haven't gone back.

We don't eat out, it's too expensive. I can get several months of HBO for what we'd pay to feed all of us, and I'd rather have the HBO. lol

That being said, I like Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Man I used to LOVE the Lobster Fondue from RD when I was pregnant with my youngest son, and with the oldest I loved their Caesar salad. It had to be from RD because nowhere else tasted quite the same to me.

Yay. OG actually has options for me.

I will dine at an Olive Garden when traveling if I can't find anything else, but again, it is basically industrial food, although they do have some palatiable red Italian wines and nice soup, Like Johnny Carruso's and others, it goes downhill from there, and is basically a B. We like eating at A places, or at home.

I never go to OG for dinner - WAY too expensive but have met my former co-workers there for lunch some. I've learned NEVER order anything with a red sauce - I cook better red sauce dishes. BUT......been hoping for years they would bring a Red Lobster to Paulding. It ain't gonna happen but they would definitely get my families business on a regular basis.

I do want to try Olive Tree soon, tho.
