Actually I am proud of him. And he wanted to show him as soon as he received it, but I would not let him! He read the things you posted and got so freaking pissed off, that he was putting an end to the disbeliefs. I don't have to show you jack. End of story. Go find someone else's kid to put down.

South Paulding's JV team did an excellent job this year and has many talented young men playing for them. But Hiram's JV had an excellent tournament and should get the credit they deserve. My son is one of the kids that is on the Varsity rooster but does not get playing time there so the coach has him and a few others get their reps in on JV. There are many other teams that do the same thing. It is not against the rules and it is NOT cheating. All but one of these kids played in every single JV game this year. And the other one is a FRESHMAN.

Hiram has about 40 kids that come out for spring baseball and South has over 80, so it is a little easier for your coach to field a team that is strictly varisity and a team that is strictly JV.

To the SCREEN NAME that talked about ERA at EP. Let's take a minute and think about who he was HAND fed the last 4 years and other coaches begging for... Zach Wheeler? That is a SUB 1 ERA for 2 years, what was he picked? 6 or 7th in the first round in the MLB draft? Bobby Rednour was a stud his junior year not so much his senior year. Hayden Petitta this past season was one of the best. 3-2 record is sad and pathetic, ERRORS... tough to strike out everyone. Not to mention goinging back to my original post A NIGERIAN GOAT FARMER(sonicson) is calling pitches... could you imagine with someone knowledgable was doing it?

FYI You know you are a bad coach when players don't want to come back and help out or hang around.

To the SCREEN NAME about fundraising... there is over 40K in the baseball account already. Why do you need that much money in reserve? Fundraising all the time is a joke. Fundraise what you need for the season and be done. TO MJF I think that is more than enough for the program to continue.

Now on one other side note and JOKE a Freshman won Pitcher of the year at EP helps when you are already on the Dugout Club Roster before Tryouts even happen I guess or that he threw only against the weakest teams in the county and non conference games. Talk about setting up a player for success! Let me think Pitcher of the year goes to a kid who pitches against bad teams and has an 2.00 ERA or a guy who pitches ALL the big games and has a 3.00 ERA and you hung out to dry a few time because you were to dumb to not have anyone warming up?

To the SCREEN NAME that your kid got cut. I think it's horrible what EP did. You can never have enough PO on a baseball team, especially if that is what he wanted to be. BUT talking to numerous players that play for EP and new your son that found it hard to believe he was topping out that high on the radar. I don't think this is anyone from South, how would anybody from South knows whats going on at East Paulding, if they have a son on the team, im sure they would be attending South's games, not East. This sounds like some kind of battle between parents from East.

The first time I read this post I let it pass. I let it wash over me like water off a duck's back, but I keep coming back to it and the more times I read it, the more pi$$ed I get. I don't know who the hell you are, and I really don't want to, nor do I know who you THINK you are, but what the hell are you doing coming on here and trashing these young men individually like you did. I personally know the young men you're trashing and when you did it, you did it to my boys. If there's a high school in Paulding County, you can bet they have several of my boys on their baseball team. When you trash them, you're trashing my boys and I don't like it one little bit. You can trash adults, coaches, umpires, parents all you want.... I've done that, but when it comes to these young men, you need to watch what you say. Are they perfect? NO, and neither are you. But, I'll tell you this.... I'll pick a team and the one you trashed will definitely be one of the ones I choose first. In fact, I'll take my entire 14 yo rec team who are now in high school baseball and take on any and all challenges. That's how good I think they all are. I either coached most of the junior and senior basebal players in this county or I coached against them. Either way, I love watching them compete against each other now.

I agree attacking someone under the age of 18 is wrong. You are 100% right. MJF son did hit well this year. If all is true next year should be tough for EP with so many young players not coming out for the team. It's going to be tough coming out and watching. If my son had the opportunities that the kids not coming out do in football I wouldn't either.

You need to get a teaching job and then get the coaching job if you have rec ball players playing on all the teams in the county! You have some skills and need not go to waste.

I agree with this. He has had rec ball players on all the county teams. Three of those were All-Region or All-County this year --including MJF's son. I expect that number to be higher next year! Good job Champsbbcoach!

Just to put a serious myth to rest............Coach Galamore isn't going anywhere. He will not be taking the Alexander job and will be returning for another run at a state championship next year at South Paulding.

Couple of facts for melnsid........

1. You can cry about how the coaches at E.P. are the worst around because your son got cut every year he tried out.
2. How did your son do on the traveling team prior to trying out...that's right...he couldn't even make that team(and you pay to play)Haha!Should tell ya about your son's talent!
3.Actually you don't need to be a teacher to be able to coach....it's called a community coach!No teaching degree needed!
4.Ummm,if your son were on the team and didn't rely on gossip because he's not on the field....the pitchers do know when they start,unless they are a middle reliever.
5.Laughable to bash coaches who have had a lot of success over there! What's even more laughable is that you honestly think your son throws in the upper 80's!!!!! To tell a pitcher what he is throwing on the radar gun during tryouts is something they don't need to know. I applaud the pitching coach you feel has no sense calling pitchers or teaching them mechanics. If a pitcher knows how hard he was throwing he probably tries to throw harder to try and impress. Guess you don't realize that the gun was only used to mix and match pitchers and set up the pitching rotation.Or be a lie detector for some parents who think their son throws harder than they do!
6. Your son wasn't told how hard he was throwing because no one was! Your son couldn't break a pane of glass. I can throw a wiffle ball harder! My buddy who was a freshman threw harder than him! Actually most of the younger kids on the team threw harder and with better control,and your son was a senior throwing no better then between 72-74 tops!AND THAT'S A FACT!!!!
7. Sexest coaches???? Is this softball???? You also have some nerve to even bring up the former coach who died! It's called standards he set for his program and he was old school! Just because you don't like it too bad! He was a very well respected man,but you feel the need to vent and bash everyone so be it! Teaches your son great morals too! If you don't get your way son,go on a computer and bash everyone because you couldn't make the team. Sure does sound personal attacking all because of results you felt were unfair!!! Great lessons in life learned there!
8. Apparantly you also don't have your facts correct about the coaches! Check Boyd's wins over his career and Sonncson's history since he's been there! You don't want a pitching coach who invests time prior to the season working with the kids and giving up his time to do so? A lot of time is spent prior to the season based on dedication!
9. 5 innings apparantly is too many innings for a pitcher!!!!! Laughable! It's called a pitch count retard! Any pitching coach in any program monitors their pitchers! 5 innings...it has to do with pitch count!!!Enough said. Coach actually does a great job keeping track of who throws what! Your son did ok early in tryouts...when pitchers should be ahead of hitters that early in the season....especially tryouts!Congrats on your son playing at the next level...I guess! We will all be tracking his stats and posting updates on this site. Should be interesting if he makes the team. It's called conditioning,which should be interesting if he can hack it!
10.Good old #10...saved this one for last! 10 poles is something the players have voted on....NOT the coaches! We decided that when we were in the locker room to reduce strikeouts! Coaches didn't come up with that rule. It was us...the players!!!!!!!!!! J.V. coach started it and the varsity players agreeded to do the same! 10 POLES was decided by the players! I appreciate the passion with which folks discuss youth athletics.

There are several baseball sports 'schools' ... places where former pros work with youth to get them to peak performance and they are private entities and from what I've seen, they have some success. That this would be the qualified 'pay' travel team is no a slam at all.

Folks should realize that you just don't know who will make it, who will be good and who will be great. Good for those who succeed and good for those who try.

Bottom line though, it is the good that comes from striving for distinction that contributes to the character of an individual. Parents and others around the youth athlete are at best participating as bystanders and the truth is that parents that stand up for you are better than those who show by their actions they don't care. Parents of others who tear you down are at best a nuisance and in the big scheme of things, even if you are a great ball player like Pete Rose or Barry Bonds, character counts and it is what the individual does that counts. The rest is static.

Please refrain from creating more static.

Okay, now that the regular season is over, it's time for summerball. Can someone tell me the benefit of not playing with the school's summer league team. I know several players that do not play with the schools team and im just wondering why they would not play with the school's team. Wouldnt it be better to keep the players together, to stenghten the team for the spring?

I applaud the pitching coach you feel has no sense calling pitchers or teaching them mechanics. If a pitcher knows how hard he was throwing he probably tries to throw harder to try and impress. Guess you don't realize that the gun was only used to mix and match pitchers and set up the pitching rotation.Or be a lie detector for some parents who think their son throws harder than they do!
6. Your son wasn't told how hard he was throwing because no one was! Your son couldn't break a pane of glass. I can throw a wiffle ball harder! My buddy who was a freshman threw harder than him! Actually most of the younger kids on the team threw harder and with better control,and your son was a senior throwing no better then between 72-74 tops!AND THAT'S A FACT!!!!
7. Sexest coaches???? Is this softball???? You also have some nerve to even bring up the former coach who died! It's called standards he set for his program and he was old school! Just because you don't like it too bad! He was a very well respected man,but you feel the need to vent and bash everyone so be it! Teaches your son great morals too! If you don't get your way son,go on a computer and bash everyone because you couldn't make the team. Sure does sound personal attacking all because of results you felt were unfair!!! Great lessons in life learned there!
8. Apparantly you also don't have your facts correct about the coaches! Check Boyd's wins over his career and Sonncson's history since he's been there! You don't want a pitching coach who invests time prior to the season working with the kids and giving up his time to do so? A lot of time is spent prior to the season based on dedication!
9. 5 innings apparantly is too many innings for a pitcher!!!!! Laughable! It's called a pitch count retard! Any pitching coach in any program monitors their pitchers! 5 innings...it has to do with pitch count!!!Enough said. Coach actually does a great job keeping track of who throws what! Your son did ok early in tryouts...when pitchers should be ahead of hitters that early in the season....especially tryouts!Congrats on your son playing at the next level...I guess! We will all be tracking his stats and posting updates on this site. Should be interesting if he makes the team. It's called conditioning,which should be interesting if he can hack it!
10.Good old #10...saved this one for last! 10 poles is something the players have voted on....NOT the coaches! We decided that when we were in the locker room to reduce strikeouts! Coaches didn't come up with that rule. It was us...the players!!!!!!!!!! J.V. coach started it and the varsity players agreeded to do the same! 10 POLES was decided by the players! Your son wouldn't know that because he wasn't in the clubhouse!!!!!You have a lot to say but your facts are not correct and all you write about is a bunch of lies and B.S.!!!!!

Sure hope A. Thomas learns to become a man in college and not a cry baby! 5. Never said he threw in the upper 80's. I also said I don't know what he was throwing but I do know he got 6 of the 7 batters out that he faced in tryouts. I guess if he was only throwing 72mph- those hitters must have sucked huh?? Those 7 were starters this year..

8. I believe I along with a few others simply asked what either the head coach and the pitching coaches qualifications were. They still haven't been answered...which only I can assume there isn't any.

10. Again I am not the one who brought up the 10 poles. I did comment on that and find it very hard to believe the players came up with it when so many have complained about it.

If Boyd would have told him he wasn't good enough all is good. No problem whatsoever. BUT when he tells him (along with others this year and last year), they didn't make the team because they didn't play SUMMER ball as that is their biggest fundraiser he missed. That is where the problem lies. Nothing more nothing less.

Yeah he/she really need to go back and reread, because alot of the things he is talking about you werent the one that brought it up and I cant believe he/she is on here attacking a child like this. This has to be another student, not an adult acting like this. At least I hope so.
