BUT NOT ANYMORE............
Last night, EP hosted South for a region showdown. The Raiders dominated the game for 5 innings only giving up 2 hits and 0 runs. In all honesty, it appeared to be another loss. They led going into the top of the 6th with a 7 - 0 lead. That all changed in the next 30 minutes. If memory serves me correctly, South led off the inning with 8 straight hits and finished with 9 runs on the board. What an explosion at the plate. Single, double, single, single, double, double, single, single.............1 run, 2 runs, 3 runs......9 runs. WOW. East managed a lead off homer in their half of the inning and South plated one more in the top of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th, East became toast..........the torch had been passed.
Spartan JV boys last year dominated East for the county championship 15 - 0 and it looks like the trend has carried over. Now don't say, "Well, it's down year for East" because I assure you, the Raiders are a great team with great starting pitching, but South is just a little better. Good job Spartans.

What was Boyd's qualifications for Head Baseball coach? some years as an assistant????
Your pitching coach Sonnicson has ZERO qualifications on pitching and that is the guy you want teaching mechanics to your son? much less calling the pitches?
Sad to say, East is going down and fast.... HIRAM will be next years best County Team. Paulding County may even beat East next year! lol Sorry PC
On a side note, the South Paulding Game is why South made playoffs and East didn't. Boyd as dumb as he is left his starting pitcher in way too long. Not only did he do that he has nobody ready in the 5th inning as a back up. Now we are talking HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL not may pitchers can go 5 innings or more and be strong at the end. So you should always start warming up your relievers in the 4th inning. It's called poor coaching and little knowledge of the game.
Here is another bad coaching. If you strike out looking you have 10 foul poles after the game. 10 FOUL POLES! How many strikeouts do you think EP had because players didn't want to run.... when you have young players playing you don't do that to them, it's just another thing messing with their heads.
In the end Boyd is a terrible coach with a personality of a Donkey and Sonnicson is as qualified as nigerian goat farmer at pitching and has no knowledge of the game.

Paulding County beat South this year.
North beat East twice and only lost to South because of 2 runs in on bogus balk calls.

Yes they did win, by bringing down players from their high school team to win against a mostly 9th grade JV South team. That was pathetic. You should only be allowed to play with the players you have played with all year. How can you get any joy out of a win like that.

That right there was funny and SO TRUE! How Coach Boyd is still the head coach is mind blowing.
Nothing like having to run foul poles for things such as losing, striking out looking, not selling enough fundraiser things, and many many more. And if you plan on trying out for the team, you better have played summer ball. It is their biggest fundraiser (his words in black and white on the raiders website) and if you don't play summer ball, you won't play spring ball.
After watching him beam line drives to the shins of players after losing to North Paulding, I can 100% say he is an A$$. No way in heck would my son ever play for such a so called coach.
Why parents put up with that bullcrap, I will never understand. You are much better off playing travel ball and having your son learn from real coaches.

AND women go on the field all the time. thats a made up myth. We don't have it so bad at East. Its lots of fun and just because we didn't make the play-offs is no reason to abandon ship OR give up. We look forward to next year and hope it goes a little longer.

I completely agree with debbielou. Mine did not make the team and was told DIRECTLY from the coaches mouth that summer ball would have benefited him greatly. Why???? He also said mine wasn't good enough to play high school ball. But yet he is good enough to get a college baseball scholarship as a pitcher only??? He pitched to seven of the better hitters in tryouts and gave up one bloop hit. Next kid pitches to the same 7 hitters and walks 4 and 3 are hit to the fence. That kid made it- why?? Because he played summer ball. No ands, ifs or buts about it.
I heard about the line drives to the boys shins after a game and the running for striking out looking. You really can sit there and say that is great coaching??? A good coach should teach those boys how to lose with dignity. You can't win them all.

Unless you are "in" with the coach you better play in the summer. He told mine also that he should have played summer ball and he should have been to ALL the fundraisers. He missed one due to strep throat. WTH???
He is an A$$ and should not be the head coach. So do you agree with having a full practice after the game to North and beaming of line drives and actually hurting a few kids just because they lost? And the running foul poles for stupid things like striking out? I guess Coach is so perfect that he never struck out before. Oh wait, has he even ever played a game of baseball before? I guess the MLB players should be running also for striking out huh?
