I have nothing against any of the schools or the football teams, I wish all of them could win every game, they are after all kids. But what I have a problem with is the tactics I have heard the North Paulding coaches are using on the football players to gear them up for their game against East Paulding. None of the students that go to East Paulding are to blame in ANY way other than the one involved in the accident. My boys are good friends with some of the players that go to North Paulding and were telling me what the coaches are telling the players and I could not believe it. No matter how you look at it, it is wrong for the coaches to make them believe that it is everyone at East Paulding that is to be blamed for the terrible accident that happened.

Son plays football, daughter attends North and have NEVER heard anything negative about the upcoming game, the players, or the students at East. We all know the horrible actions of one selfish individual does not represent EPHS. Each and every game is being played for Zach and his memory.

from what I understand the coaches are discouraging the players from retaliating against ANY East student or player.

I hope that no one stirs up any unnecessary trouble. I was looking foward to North playing East and walking over to East Paulding side and visiting w/ some of my friends, but I hear talk of them blocking it off and not allowing people to go over to the other side. That would be a shame if thats how it is the first time we ever play each other.

I would bet an entire year's salary that this is completely and totally false information.

The kids on NP's team aren't perfect by any means. But, they are without a doubt some of the most well-adjusted, mature, and kind-hearted kids that I've ever been around. They are that way on the field due to amazing parents and hard-working coaches, who have tried to teach them over the past 10 months (since the freshman lost another middle school teammate in January), that bad things happen, but that to get past them they come together and they get stronger. When Tre' died in January, they came together in a positive way--selling bands, collecting money, holding a dance to give money to his family. They did this because they had strong adults leading by example and reminding them that grief is okay, but that anger and revenge is never the answer to truly moving on. I can't imagine that in just that short time, esp. knowing how those boys have reacted in such positive ways the last few weeks, that so much could have changed.

I know that this is a public web site, but posting stuff like this does nothing more than fan imaginary flames. In a situation such as this, where children are hurting and one family is devastated, it's just not the time or proverbial place.

Good post. I also doulbt that they are out to seek revenge against East. That doesn't make any sense for 1 because I don't believe the student from East involved in the accident was a football player there. If anything it may be people who are not even on the football team talking and stirring up rumors.

What you have heard is entirely wrong and you shouldn't post and help spread rumors on a public forum. I know each and every one of these coaches and I was at the team meeting and am in the field house often and they would never use this tactic as motivation. In fact they aren't even thinking about East Paulding yet. We have 2 games to play before we get to them. You should know that kids talk nonsense constantly. You should also know better than to help perpetuate the rumor by posting it publicly and get your facts straight first.

Ridiculous! You need to get to know these coaches Bradsgirl106. I have never been more proud for my son (a member of the NPHS football team) to be a part of a group! My respect & admiration for this coaching staff has done nothing but multiply having seen, "firsthand", the way they have handled this tragedy with all involved/affected. Please know waht you are talking about before starting such horrific rumors! Unbelievably appauling!

Oh my, what a terrible thing to post bradsgirl106. You surely do not know the NP coaching staff. They encourage their players to be better than that and to rise above such behavior. These coaches are wonderful role models for these young men. This team has faced a terrible tragedy and is handling it with grace. Sometimes it is those on the outside who spread ugly rumors that can cause problems. Bradsgirl106, I encourage you not to be a part of that.

As some people may already know, I handle the website for South Paulding football (www.SouthPauldingFootball.com) and also take pix from the S.P. sidelines of their games.

North Paulding and South Paulding had a game this past Friday, with North winning.

Both teams played a good game.

I will have to give credit to the North and South teams, for good sportsmanship and conduct -- likewise to the Coaches of both teams, the players, parents, and students, on both sides of the field -- and that includes before the game, during the game, and after the game.

Other than the "usual firing up of the players," I really can't see the coaches of North, doing anything that would be inappropriate when it comes to their players.
