I just don't get it. Why would you even ask so a stupid azz question???? DUH......Heres your sign!!! If its a pizza party then you should expect PIZZA. I have never been to a pizza party where the parents had fruit (although that is a good idea) or anything other than pizza, cake and icecream. To me it is just a really STUPID parent. I mean then don't take the kid to the party. Or like everyone else said feed the ratazz (ok only half kidding here b/c kids "usually" are a bit like their parents) before you bring them OR pack them a lunch. Posted Image Sorry, just a little anoyed with ppl these days when there are so many more importants things to worry about other than what ppl are serving at a PIZZA party. GEEZZZZ!!!!!!!

ETA: To answer your question I would have been thrown for a loop at first. After I finished laughing I would have prob. said well then bring them a lunch.

Maybe the little girl is allergic to an ingredient in pizza, who's to say. But, the original poster shouldn't have to change the food for one person.

I can understand that but maybe she should have said that. So the OP would know why she asked. I think it is just a dumb question. Just my .02 1/2 cents. Posted Image

Our youngest is lactose, so he can't have the cheese on the pizza, but we just pull it off, and he eats it like it's breadsticks with marinara.

Perhaps they could have just asked if it would be offensive to bring their own meal?

The mom is an moron. She should just feed her kid before she comes and tell princess that she can kindly say, "No thank you, I just ate." She should have never asked you this question and hopefully she is reading this and will catch on that the world does not revolve around her childs desires.

We are having pizza, fruit, cake and ice cream. Thats the plan.

Thanks, ya'll!!!!!!!

Why the fruit? You said pizza party, so unless you included fruit on the invitation, that means pizza, cake and ice cream.

What if she fed her daughter before she came, only to find you had fruit (which maybe she loves)? How inconsiderate is that?

How would she have known if she hadn't asked?

It's inconsiderate for her to serve something that the child may like because she may have eaten beforehand? Posted Image What if she fed her beforehand and the kid likes cake and ice cream? I'm not understanding how that's her problem. She invited the kid to a party...entertainment and free food...what the heck else do people expect?

I'm now dreading my kid's first 'school' party this year. Ugh. Posted Image

All I'm saying is was it so bad to ask if they were serving anything other than pizza? The OP said in a later post she was serving fruit, so unless she included that on the invitation, I think the mother had a valid question.

I think Cake and Ice Cream would be assumed.

And I can see why you're dreading the first school party. If you ask a valid question, someone might post it here and blow it way out of proportion.

Aaaahhhh, I remember the "good ole' days" when a birthday party meant you only served cake and ice cream, all homemade! And everyone was happy with that. No theme parties, no specialty food parties, just fun and games and cake and ice cream. Your friends came to your party because they liked you, not because of what you were serving. :)

:clapping: Birthday parties really have gotten out of hand IMO. My dd is 12 so tahnkfully no more "theme" parties for her. It's sooo expensive to rent places for parties. We did bowling one year, gymnastics the next, Mcdonalds a few times ect..the fact that my dd's b-day is Dec 10 made it even harder with Christmas and all.

When I was a kid my party was always at my house, never anything but a cake & ice cream. Not only that, my parents always said that my party was their gift to me, thats all they could afford. seems how they already gave me life, I couln't really ask for more!!
today is tomorrow's yesterday.

If they laugh at you because you're different, laugh at them because they're all the same.

Mine is Dec. 25th, so I TOTALLY understand how your dd feels. I never had parties growing up except for a handful - my friends were always with their families. On Christmas day my family came to our house for cake & icecream. My mom always felt so bad, so a couple of times she had a birthday party in July for me, but that was twice I think.

I know what you mean. My son's b-day is December 22nd. I make sure his b-day and Christmas is totally seperate. When I was growing up my b-day parties consist of it being outside, with pin the tail on the donkey, cake, ice cream, soda, presents, other games. That's it.

Meh. Not really. When I was a kid, yea. Now that I am older I like it - people forget it's my birthday, too. LOL :p
