So, now we're looking for a non-denominational church where the preaching is both informative and inspirational, a church that has activities that our 5 year old would enjoy, a casual, relaxed environment, and preferably one that has activities on Wednesday night.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You can go to the West Ridge website and listen to past messages to get a feel for if it would be a good fit for your family. Pastor Brian is great. The Children's Pastor Brent Moxey is insane and just hysterical. I love him to death. We have an awesome summer camp called SURGE coming up (you can check out youtube video's from the past couple of years). This past summer my oldest helped teach Soccer, my middle son took Cooking and my youngest did Woodworking. You pick an Art or sport track and do it all week..
Some other youtube videos you can check out are on the Community Makeover weekends from the past two summers (a bunch of churches are involved in this) and a really cool video on a service whose video is I think titled/called "cardboard testimonies" Very powerful.
We'd love to have you. No matter what though I wish you the best finding a place you like. We spent the summer out of town and visited many different churches and had a hard time finding one that felt like home so good luck and God Bless!

We do mostly contemporary music and I wear pant/jeans and a shirt. Sometimes I will dress up...but I never wear a dress. DBF wears a shirt and jeans. Kids dress like kids.... heck..one kid will wear her PJ's on Wednesday nights.
Come as you are church. We are also in the process trying to get started helping out SHARE House. It's a Safe house for domestic violence victims of Douglas and Paulding Counties.

I also love Westridge. I have 3 children that love it. Like said above they only have middle school on Wednesday night but they have journey groups that meet in homes. I take my children to Pickett's mill baptist on Wednesday nights for Awana's.

It was great meeting you also.
I must say that I have been looking for a new church for a while. I have visited a handful and although they were all ok, it just wasn't what I was looking for. BUT I will say that this church left me wanting to come back. I hope I have found what I have been missing. I really enjoyed the service and the people.....can't say enough about how friendly they all were. I will be there Sunday....and my daughter will be with me this time.
This church really reminded me of another church that I called home for so long.
Oh and I loved the Wednesday night service. I was just like Sunday to me....Praise along with the sermon.

We are A part of Westridge Church. It's a non-denominational, The preaching is both informative and inspirational, casual wear, nothing fancy, We have activities pretty much every night of the week to choose from, and the children's activities on sunday morning are wonderful. I would highly suggest it, and we'd love to have you and your family visit.

There are a good many people on pcom who go to Westridge.
My husband and I have been serving in Praiseland for 9 years and we love it!!!
Brent is awesome, doesn't act much older than the kids do!! LOL
Our church is getting a makeover right now so it looks pretty different, but it should be back to normal in a couple of weeks.
HOld on-it's gonna be a wonderful journey!

My girls had so much fun on Sunday morning! They asked if they could go back on Monday!! I have 2 in Praiseland also (a 17 month old and a 3yr old), maybe I will get to meet you.
The church we attended for years went thru a lot of changes and it took us a while to move on to a new one. We are about 5 minutes to the new campus (my kids go to school there, as well) but I think we will plug in to the main campus, for a while anyway.

Excellent moderating!
I probably should do more posting if I post any links. I check the forums once or twice a month just to see whats happening in my hometown (I grew up and still live in Hiram), but I never post. I guess I just want to validate my post and my link to the church's website. I already feel strange "marketing" my church, but I felt in this case that the OP was looking for something specific that fits my church's description.
Anyhoo, if you google: discoverthejourney.net, you will get to the same place.
Cheers,
Glenn
