We continue to get reports of folks who are unable to navigate the new site. The most likely reason is an obsolete browser such as IE 6 or IE 7 (80 percent of the users use IE and these two versions are known to cause issues with the New Pcom as well as being known Internet security risks (reason there is an IE8). You can upgrade IE through your current Internet Explorer browser or, if you like the version you have, you may instead install one or more of the following alternative browsers.

The issue is now solved. Seems there was a field missing in the database. The upgrade software was supposed to write the new field for the Search optimized topic URLS.... you can see in the URL above "http://dallas2.paulding.com/forum/index.php?/topic/228037-welcome-to-the-new-pcom/" it adds the name 'welcome-to-the-new-pcom/" to the topic's URL.
There just was not a field in the database to write it to. We fixed that and all is well in mudville ... as opposed to mudberry which is where the Hornet beat Sprayberry by a point. go Hornets.
Is it still in the process of doing whatever it's doing??? I can click on a topic, but it won't let me scroll all the way down... Are y'all gonna do a tutorial for us slow learners????

that sounds like an IE 6 or 7 issue ... I know that those browsers were never 100 percent standard and that they've had problems.
Those who have taken this opportunity to upgrade have not been disappointed (actually, because security holes being plugged are the main reason for upgrades, you're not doing yourself a favor by holding onto an obsolete browser. )

PS: I'm going to start a topic with links to the major browsers and updates.
Since there is a lot of change going on with Pcom already, this would be a good time to go out and download Firefox for free and wean yourself off of IE.
You'll thank me later.

We found an error in our coding of colorful premium member names that caused users of IE 8 and probably IE 7 and AOL to display enormous amounts of white space. This was due to an 'unclosed' <span> tag.
As an aside, the percentage of users logging on Pcom with IE declined about 10 percent. Firefox, which showed a 7 percent increase and Google Chrome, with about a 3 percent increase were the beneficiaries of the coding error:)
There are a few other issues that remain including custom media/bbcodes for ustream video, inclusion of the flash player and clearing up the issues with the board mailer.
I had Google Chrome from another hardware device I recently installed and it seems to work fine. I could get on with AOL, but the display was screwy and I got the miles of open ended posts.
Hope you get all the bugs worked out soon.
