I've been frequenting some churches in the area and enjoy all of them, but am still hoping for something with deeper worship. I'd love to find a place where I am free to worship however i feel led. I enjoy the more contemporary worship styles (ie: hillsong united, IHOP, Passion, Chris Tomlin, etc)

anybody know of anywhere nearby?

Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Westridge is good
I got to North Metro and I love them!

If you want flags and tongues and all that, Trinity Chapel is a pretty rowdy crowd.

Have you tried Hope on Dallas Hwy?
Contemporary music but with a strong biblical message.

No flags. Trinity on Macland has flags. I think they're in transistion right now.
My in-laws go there.

Atlanta West Pentecostal Church in Lithia Springs sounds like what you are looking for, or maybe The Rock Church in Hiram on Cleburn (sp) road. They are just starting out, but the music you mentioned is what they sing. It has a very good preacher also.

Christ The King Church in Acworth has all of the things you mentioned. Worship goes as long as they feel it needs to go, so there's no set time that it ends and the message begins. They also encourage keeping the children in there until worship is over so that they can participate too. I know the pastor there and he's a good guy. We actually used to attend the same church in Florida. PM me if you have any questions.

We attend Westridge and as much as I would love to have you join us, it is not what you describing. Coming from a pentecostal background I know what you are searching for and other than Trinity I haven't found anything close to what I was used to prior to moving to Georgia. The church mentioned in Acworth does sound interesting. Sounds a lot like the church I grew up in. I pray you find what you hunger for.

That's what I was thinking too. I'd never seen any of that there. There is also a church called Souls Harvest on Hwy 92 right past the old Save Rite at Brownsville/Sweetwater Church (if you're coming from Hiram going toward Douglasville). I haven't been there in a few years, but they have that too. Other than Trinity, I don't know of any other charismatic churches out here.

Our church, Trinity Fellowship, is on Pair Road in Marietta...near the intersection of the East-West Connector and Powder Springs Road. Actually we bought Trinity Chapel's old building when they built their new facilities. It's Spirit filled worship and our pastor is truly a shepherd of his flock. Come join us if you'd like. Service on Sunday mornings starts at 10:45. We usually have a congregation of around 150-200 people, so it's not a huge church at all...but is full of love and grace.

Trinity doesn't have flags right now. They haven't for some time.

Flags and banners are just that, flags and banners. The flags are waved around during worship. Banners are usually a picture with the word describing what they are symbolizing. For example, there is a banner with the Earth on it and it's used to focus prayer on the world. There is one with a family on it and it says Family at the bottom or top and when they are praying for families, they will bring out that banner and have everyone focus their prayer on that. Those are just a couple of examples.

IHOP is the International House of Prayer.

You would have to experience what he's talking about to understand.

It's where God isn't a church service He's an experience.

I haven't been there, but my best friend really likes North Star in Kennesaw. She is more of a free spirit and says the church is more contemporary than others she has been to.

My family & I go to New Freedom Fellowship in Rockmart. LOVE it!!! The name says it all. The worship experience there is like no other I have ever been to. We do worship with flags( my husband even flags) and banners. Our pastor there is wonderful! He is an old hippie guy who rides a Harley. He was in the groups Three Dog Night, Allman Bros., toured with Elvis just to name a few. The music there is AWESOME! Keyboard, several guitars (accoustic & electric), drums, bongos, etc. Kevin, our worship leader works for 91.7. We are a non-denominational church with a congregation of 150-200. I think you might enjoy.
